I'm sure I'm not the only pinhead who has had offers for a slot machine, jukebox or any other vending type machine. I guy I have known at work for 16 years told me his parents have a slot machine that they wanted gone. I was told it had a broken lamp. I thought what the heck, it was free and if I made a few bucks on it, I would split the profit with him.

I picked it up today and it turns out that it has a CRT monitor which his dad had broken while attempting to fix it. Tail end of the glass tube is broke, so there's no fixing it. I saw the same model on epay with a LCD upgrade. So I guess I should go this route if I want to fix it. Seller asking $1299. The machine is a Wms 550 made 10/98. Is it worth sinking money into? Is it worth anything for parts?
