Hi, I'm troubleshooting my balrog flasher in my LOTR. I thought I had it figured out that the LED wasn't working as the polarity was incorrect to the socket. I took the following pictures and on analysis I now think it looks like its wired correctly. I'm hoping someone can advise if it's wired incorrectly or if there's something else going on. The following are my troubleshooting steps/results:

Issue: new LED bulb not working in 12v Flasher socket (Balrog)
1) new LED bulb works fine in AC GI lighting slot = bulb works
2) new LED bulb works fine wtih 9v battery (+) on nub and (-) on base but doesn't light when reversed = polarity sensitive bulb
3) Red GI lighting bulb i had works in flasher socket during tests = flasher power is working

The following pics show the black/grey wire (driver) going to the black wire in the molex connector. Then the pic of the socket shows the black on the nub which appears correct. So I'm out of ideas if thats correct....?!

I also looked at the service bulletin and it looks correct - I assume the wiring harness has been redone once, so my red/black are instead of the orange/black: http://www.sternpinball.com/upload/downloads/sb148.pdf

Ya it's the Service bulletin http://www.sternpinball.com/upload/downloads/sb148.pdf that changes it to a #44 base socket for a LED. It's done by the previous owner and now that I've traced it, it looks like it's all correct. Which is why i'm so confused.

Thanks - that's what I'm thinking. If I had an AC rated bulb it would be fine but since it's DC I need to swap the wires to the socket I guess. I was just concerned that maybe swapping the wires would cause some other issue, but sounds like it's fine.
