Any issue shipping to Canada? I think I'll get my money back from playdium and get one while I can.

I don't know if it matters.
I updated the game with the micro SD card that came with. Then I did the topper. Then the display and new sub woofer. Then the RGB GI lighting.

i would try to connect the display to a notebook to check if it is a problem with the tft panel or the pinball CPU
Quoted from adam3071:Greetings. New MMR owner. Bought the xl display but the background is a green instead of black after install. Any ideas?

I would use the hdmi to DVI on the display connector (if like mine) and test with an HDMI output probably best a pc or laptop source, I can't recall the panels native resolution so other sources might work to test it with. Definitely easier than finding something with an old school DVI output these days, give current pc equipment has DV ports, HDM, etc. I just installed mine yesterday so I can check the native resolution when it boots to see if you have can test with more general HDMI devices.
Edit: tried and tested in all of 2 mins with a iPhone and HDMI output cable. Screen is 1080p compatible so a multitude of HDMI sources will work if yours comes with the DVI-HDMI adapter already.

Thanks for the insight above. After playing around with the control box on the display, changed picture to movie mode icon and now it's fine. Weird but I'll take it!

Yeah because I'd only installed the day before and wasn't looking for it, I only noticed the controls on the input box yesterday. I would have probably started there too just quietly.
Topper installed and it is not working (no lighting), also checked in test. This was a type 1 install per the very detailed install directions.
I have triple checked all connections and made sure connections are secure and in place. Ticket was started today with Chicago Gaming.
Unfortunately, another unhappy customer. I installed the Topper PCB board using the template provided to start (4) 3/32" holes, topper was mounted to top of game (using topper template as well) and the wire harness plug from topper would not reach the J12 connection. I made sure there was no hang up of the wire harness through the hole on top of the head. Unfortunately the only fix was to move the Topper PCB board up about 1/2" so that I could get the harness connected to J12 (which has left four small holes that are visible now) which I was very disappointed in.
I also need to install the new XL display and Sound system but am having second thoughts right now due to the disappointment of the topper install process and it not working. I will update when I hear back from Chicago Gaming.
Thanks Lloyd, I tried that and that did not work.
Heard back from Chicago ticket and they advised to doo the same connector swap. I am responding back now to let them know that was not the fix. Hopefully hear something back today. Thanks again!!!
Hey guys. I had installed the XL display awhile back along with the 3.0.0 code and all looked good. My daughter and I were playing yesterday and when we saved the Damsel we saw this:
Who is that? I know this was an image of a princess previous to the display upgrade. Has anyone else seen this? I'm guessing this is a "family mode" image but I have that turned off (I'm a bad parent). We also have the ultra crazy shaker as someone else reported previously. I was thinking of doing a factory reset but wanted to know if anyone else has seen this first.
Thanks,
Dave

What princess call out happened when you hit that shot?
That happens on my normal dmd, I think it’s the “crabby” one.
Also my shaker is insane.
I think I need to upgrade the display! These look great

There's a crabby princess I guess I never looked that closely. I always thought there was just one. Do you know what determines when you get the "crabby" princess vs the "nice" one?
The shaker is insane. I feel like the machine is going to walk across the floor. I haven't had time to fuss with the machine but maybe some night later this week. I still need to install the GI lighting. I couldn't justify the $ for the topper although it is pretty nice.
Thanks for the confirmation northvibe
Ha! I guess I never paid enough attention to the princess/damsel northvibe. We were playing again this evening and I played well enough to get damsel 1 and damsel 2 on the same ball. I got the "nice" princess first and the "crabby" princess second. Totally different phrasings and yes different damsel images. I guess I was always too "into the game" to listen close enough and look at the DMD...
Thanks HarryReimer for the note on the shaker. I did see some comments about that earlier. Its just that the code update really amped up the shaker. I've not gone through the menus to see if it can be toned down like in the previous code. If not, I will definitely do the HW mod. My little one doesn't like how "loud" the game has become since the upgrade...

Ya it rattles my glass, I’ll have to adjust I just haven’t cared or played enough to make me do it yet

Welp, Chicago gaming went silent on Dec 4th after trying to get the topper working correctly I was in contact with one of the Chicago gaming members and he was helping me through emails and now will not respond back to me. Last email was him asking if all the lights on the board would lite up and I responded back letting him know that, No do they not all light up and gave him information on what lights do light up on the board.....see below
CR1 is solid green
CR2 is solid green
CR4 flashes green
CR5 is not lit
CR6 is solid green
Lloyd, any chance you would know if Chicago gaming is shut down due to COVID or maybe the holidays? I just find it odd that the communication just stopped two weeks ago and I have a nice topper that does not work for now.

They might be.
Call their number, hit "O" for operator. And ask for Edwin or George. ( or who you dealt with )
LTG : )
Spoke with Edwin and he apologized for not updating me sooner.
He is waiting on a response from engineering on why the board doesn't seem to light up like it should and hopes to get some kind of feedback soon on what the issue could be. Will update when I hear more.
Hey guys I just got to installing my xl display where does the ground wire go ? It’s not in the directions
Quoted from Oneangrymo:Hey guys I just got to installing my xl display where does the ground wire go ? It’s not in the directions
If it's a flat plug on connector. Look under the playfield. Along the bottom area with playfield up and leaned back. Should be a couple metal blades sticking up that you can use one of them for.

Man I wish I had read more about the upgrade kits I didn’t realize it required drilling and popping holes in the cabinet ... little nervous but at least the kits include all the drill bits and stuff which is great

You can't make an omelette without breaking a few shells.
You'll be fine.
One thing I cheated on. I left the knocker where it was and only used three T Nuts and bolts to secure the topper.
Three are way more than enough to hold that topper on. You'd rip the top of the cabinet off first before the topper came off.

Be aware that the tape on the drill bits provided is there as a depth gauge. From my observation of this thread, the common issues are removing the existing speaker in the cabinet, proper routing of the additional cables in the back box, reconfiguring the pop bumper lighting and the relocation of the speaker light pins to enable full color control. This conversion added a lot to my game. And if I can complete it successfully, just about anybody else should be able too.

Thank you very much for the great lead! That was unexpected.
However I'm located in Norway and they just deliver to USA and Canada. I tried to overcome that by ordering the product via Jetcarrier.com which is a service that gives you an address in US to have it shipped to Norway, but the order just fails. I've contacted them to see if it can be solved somehow. Fingers crossed.
Cgc said they would make more kits, however I don’t know when…. Probably when they get close to a new mmr shipping….
Quoted from pinballaddicted:You need to have the topper board. We have not done it yet, we are still waiting for our RGB kit.

I just installed the topper but do not have the RGB kit. Is it possible to get the color changing speakers without the RGB kit? I do not have a 10 pin connector to attach to the far right spot on the topper PCB. Does anyone know where to get an appropriate size 10 pin connector and will it work to move the speaker pins without the RGB kit? Thanks.

You do not need any extra connectors. Follow the instructions you posted. Remove the 4 pins as instructed and put them into your current connector.

In “instructions” are based off the gi kit plug. However he could remove and plug into the topper board plug, however a dmm should be used verify voltage etc
Quoted from Sunsfan23:Anyone have a lead on who has upgrade kits for xl display/sound?
following
I have an MMR LE from first run. I have the color chip already. I am interested in and XL display and topper kit. Anyone know if these kits will be reproduced?
Can't find any in stock.

They will probably be remade when MMr goes back on the line
CGC has mentioned that the kits will be re run. I am kicking myself for only getting the XL display.

Well last year at the CCr stream they said they'd make some kits or topper asap pre 2022...aaannnnnd here we are
