Quoted from mandraws:I was actually the artist on that project. Shame they scrapped it all.
Sorry about that! Was parroting bad info...
Quoted from Whysnow:that does look pretty cool. Can we get some closer up photos?
That pic appears to be the old art.
I'm not a fan of the new style... just looks like a game with muddled textures and slightly too high gamma setting. Why didn't they keep the original art package?
Quoted from Whysnow:not sure why I am getting thumbs downed?
Are those full pf pics from the new game or the old Jpop game?
this is what happens when companies try to hype with crap photos and cant conrtol the message.
The pic with the flyer stand and cardboard dude to the left of the game is the old art package. Not sure why it's still circulating or why people thumbs-downed you..
FWIW that cropped pic of alien still looks crappy, but when placed in the context of the rest of the playfield, plus plastics and all, it looks much better. I still think the collage and mismatched styles are the worst aspect of an otherwise good art package.
Quoted from Cornelius:In addition, everyone proclaiming this as a failure or whatever are slapping rosh and Joe Balcer in the face. Is there no camaraderie amongst pinsiders, or is everyone so busy trying to be "right" about things on the internet that they can't say something good about the people designing these games?
I don't think "the old art was better than the new art" is a proclamation of failure. Neither has anyone yet commented on the programming or playfield design. Why are you throwing strawmen into the discussion?
Try talking about the game, instead of talking about the people talking about the game
