OMG worse time ever. I have a buyer driving 5 hours to pick up my SMVE and they are in route. After switching out the ColorDMD for the original the game will not boot.

I have tried without the display plugged in, but think my connections were correct. I have changed quite a few out.

Nothing looks physically damaged. The game played perfectly and now it doesn't boot at all.

    Any suggestions????

The game powers on and GI lights up only.

I would try hooking the old one back up and seeing if it works.

    Have you checked fuses?

    #4 6 years ago

I've tried both. Old display, no display. Same lights, but nothing else.

Fuses all look fine and all the same diagnostic LEDs are on as my working TWD Pro. Same lights stay on for a few and then go away on both boards (18, 20, and 50v) after powring down.

I can check continuity of the fuses (I know they dont always look smoked) but which ones would prevent game from booting? Any ideas

Deff pull them out and check them. I am not sure about which one should be in the manual if you have it. I would check IPDB and see.

Ya, can’t do visual on fuses, I’ve been burned a few times doing that. Grab the dmm and continuity test em. As heni said, check the manual to see what fuse does what, or test them all if you have time.

There are LEDs next to the Fuses, which ones are not lit when the game is on and the coin door closed?

Is there a ribbon cable on your DMD? If so is it correct?

It is often a simple solution and I hope so for you too. Swapping out a DMD is a simple process that doesn't leave much to mess up. Loose connector that was inadvertently bumped?

I'm an idiot and thought I saw all LEDs on. F11 was blown. Sorry for my stupidity, lol

    But Thanks!!

Last minute selling panic. We've all been there. GLWS.

Believe me I was panicking for 3 hours, knowing the seller is coming each way 5 hours. I totally spaced out and missed the one light out. So dumb, but oh well. Live and learn. Thanks to all for getting me through it.

I reversed the DMD power cable and ribbon cable originally and blew that fuse.

Glad to hear you got it working! Good luck on a smooth sale.
