It's decriminalized here in GR and I'd say a fair number of the league use herbal gameplay enhancement.

Quoted from Frax:

Given how many extremely caustic items you work with I'm not sure I can argue that point. Some jobs really should just be zero tolerance regardless of legality.

Except a person can smoke at home, be completely sober at work, and be treated like they were stoned while handling heavy equipment.

Quoted from Frax:

Okay. So make a choice between job and weed. Companies aren't going to stop drug testing just because it's legal. The last time this came up on pinside, I asked if there had been any changes in laws where it's been legalized saying companies couldn't fire people just for a passing test for weed or not. Didn't seem that anyone knew. Obviously the issue is that THC stays in your system a lot longer than alcohol stays in your blood, but don't expect corporations, who are in it for every last dollar, to just bend over and take a huge liability risk just so someone can smoke a doobie. They're not going to do it, and as of yet, I haven't heard of any law change that requires them to ignore a positive THC test and look for ACTUAL signs of intoxication.

What a square...

They're going to have to start differentiating the two now that quite a few people have medical reasons for imbibing. That's a very pro-status quo opinion that really took me by surprise, honestly.

*edit* By the way, is calling people a "square" a stoner thing, or are we suddenly back in the 60's?!? WTF?

Thought it was thread-appropriate.

Quoted from calvin12:

no they won't. Vicodin is legal and if your fucked up on that you can't really drive a forklift safely either.

No where was I suggesting that one smoke and do dangerous jobs??? If you have a prescription for mmj and smoke on the weekend and then have a workplace accident later in the week, yes, employers will start having to differentiate between finding you high at work and having trace amounts of a chemical in your blood. Or are you suggesting people ought to be fired for having medical conditions?

Quoted from LOTR_breath:

I will say it is quite prevalent in pinball circles. BUT, I also believe it is very dependent on the area of the country you live in and the individual. On several trips to PAPA I have seen folks lighting up in the parking lot and even had it offered to me more than once. You can't really tell if someone has a slight buzz but you can tell when they're stoned. It's so obvious.
The league that I formed and play in is comprised of probably 90-95% players who do not smoke pot. The place we play at in the mall does not serve alcohol either and to me that is a plus, not a negative. I say to each his own, but I'd rather not be around it. Why? Because I did enough of that in my 20's and 30's to last a lifetime.

It's really interesting seeing such a different point of view. Barcades are the future of pinball because it's proving to be a viable business model and it's specifically attracting those 20 and 30 year olds to the hobby who will keep it alive!

Bakushan, all you really need to know is that the ninja turtles urge you to say no to drugs, say yes to pizza.
This is one of the posters in my gameroom.

Turns out pizza kills you faster than pot... oops!
