Smoking coil fix on JJP Willy Wonka?

Powered up machine (JJP Willy Wonka CE) and got an "open coin door error", although it was closed. I opened and closed again and the machine launched a ball. Then saw smoke billowing under PF from trough area. The trough eject coil is fried! Also the coil appears to be stuck in the engaged position (but maybe because its fried?). Any clue as to why this might happen and why the coin door error? Kinda scary and got me wondering what if I wasn't standing there when it happened? Could it have started a fire or would a fuse or transistor have blown first? Game 7 months old. Will contact JJP support but this group is always helpful on a Friday night!
