So I just did a little 'debugging' of my first pin (SMB), and the Yoshi target wasn't registering. Fired up test mode and three Switches were reading down, The Yoshi Target, the 'next ball to be shot' ball (expected), and the Middle Drop Target (expected, this is the switch I believe that lets the game know whether the drop target is up or down and to have it on is the default state).
So I played with the Yoshi target a bit, and looking at the switch schematic I pulled the white target piece forward slightly, and the test mode indicated it was no longer depressed. Tapped it lightly, registered with the test mode, but then turned off after the tap. Sweet! but then I pressed a little harder on the target (like a full force pinball might impart), and it stuck 'on'. Looks like the white target piece of the switch is getting jammed under the metal apron above the target.
So I guess two questions: One, can I lower the target in any way so it doesn't get stuck on the apron.
Two, do I have to remove the entire playfield from the cabinet to work on this stuff? I am not tall enough to reach under there, especially with the elevated mini playfield in the rear of this machine. how do I take the playfield out? What do I support it on?
Thanks!
