Your on the right track if both switches do not work then yes it’s a wiring, connector,or the male header pins on the board.
Did you check the back of that board for continuity on the traces for those male header pins to that connector?
Quoted from loren3233:I did not, all I did was reflow the solder. I did check continuity from the switch to the connector and all was good there.
I will do that today and report back. Thank you as I am completely stumped on this issue.
Yes it is puzzling but tracking it down is near and it’s pointing to a bad trace or a faulty/flaky wire from that switch to the connector. After so many years of lifting and lowering the playfield wiring sometimes get pinched between playfield and backbox starts making wires flaky.
Quoted from loren3233:Hey pinmike, I pulled the board and it buzzed out fine from the header pins through the traces on the backside of the board.
I guess the next step would be to look at the wiring even though those wires had continuity from the switch to the connector.
latenite I will try wiggling the wires when I get the board back into the game, which will probably be tomorrow.
I will keep you both posted and if anything else comes to mind feel free to let me know.
Thank you for the direction to this point and hoping I can post back soon with the cause.
Ok,It’s narrowed down to the wire for that switch,Yes try and wiggle it and see if it is flaky. Also on that connector for that switch look into that connector and see if that wire is completely naked meaning that there is not a small piece of cover wire in the way.The male header pin on the board has to make full contact with that wire and nothing in the way
