Quoted from seeker939:

Smaug looks decent. But yeah, I was looking forward to the "different ways Smaug interacts with the ball". Turns out, he doesn't. So this highly innovative toy is nothing like JJP suggested it would be. Wtf? I don't care for lame excuses, bottom line is, they didn't get it done.

Come on the 24k gold coins are awesome!

What bar has WOOLY set ?

They partnered up with Spooky to build these games instead of using a friend of a friend's basement.

Smaug could use a good Bilbo Teabaggins for sure. Interacting, spitting and swallowing lots-o-balls till desolation of swag sets in.

Quoted from SilverBallz:

Spoiler alert for those of us who have not seen the movie?
Is that how smaug dies?

Punctured lung followed by a collapsed lung was what the autopsy revealed.

The angry mob has spoken...does not matter if you are Stern, PPS,JJP, DP, SkitB, Heighway, Spooky, JPop, Roit (I am sure I am forgetting a few others) subpar customer service, poor build quality along with incomplete code and S&M I got handcuffed excuses will not be tolerated. Plus the preorder system that keeps your money indefinitely BS has finally come to an end thanks to at least one manufacture out there. Now with more choices than ever, we are going to vote with our dollars. And the masses will have no loyalty unless it is earned. A lot of us feel betrayed with over promising and under delivering. *I forgot to include Python & P^3.

Quoted from iceman44:

Amazing that these guys don't see it. Complete lack of self awareness and arrogance

It's easy for them to become complacent when we allow ourselves to be taken advantage of over and over again. This expo event was the tipping point in the other direction....FINALLY!

No one's peeing on The Dude's rug but plenty are taking a dump on Bilbo's

Bilbo Teabaggins is the proper nomenclature.

Quoted from Hazoff:

consider me a rug pisser.

The rest of us are house broken or wear Depends adult diapers thank goodness.

Quoted from Hazoff:

Way too early to bury any of these pins and as far as TBL goes consider me a rug pisser.

Listen to coast 2 coast pinball podcast from the 26 min mark. You will hear him say that the TBL pre alpha code in someways is more complete than the TWD code that hit the streets already. Ouch.

Does Smog sing JJP dont worry be happy?

Quoted from VolunteerPin:

similar experience with my 11yo. He also added that they should have just made a huge, cool looking Smaug instead of a little head that turns around. At least that you you'd see him and be wow'd by his presence.

Some owners of both TBL and TH are planning on covering the Smog and book mods with a rug.

Quoted from alichino:

it's not like people aren't hyping the he'll out of TBL, which is still in pre-alpha for every part of the software.

Coast to Coast pinball podcast states that the pre alpha code was in some ways is more complete than the TWD code that is loose out on the streets. What hype? More like reality. DP arrived, concurred, wowed the crowd, and left with all our money.

How many TBL pre orders got cancelled this weekend? 'Crickets....'. You want hype...try knocking on the doors of SkitB, Jpop, Stern, or JJP and see what they have to say... 'Crickets".

skip to the 26 minute mark.

Quoted from Hazoff:

Why do you have to hate on the Hobbit so much, R U buying one?

I don't hate anything: here is my main rant a few posts prior to this page.... I want all of us Pinheads to be happy instead of feeling dirty, lied to, and cheated. Reading forum posts here and watching the live steam presentations I don't think the majority pre order folks left the Expo feeling all that great about what they saw. But, I was not there...so what do I know?

I suppose I must be the only one that wants rails instead of pegs, code that does not take 12 months + to be completed, preorder games that won't take 36 months+ to ship, distributors who will offer full pre order refunds, and a color display instead of red dots on a $8K LE model. I could keep bitching, but instead I will continue to give my money to support ppl like Dutch Pinball and Pinsiders who produce kick ass toys, mods and other quality products.

"Peekaboo Sock Puppet Smaug" please.
When he starts talking that's all I can think about ... a sock puppet.

For me I think of this episode: Shut the sock up Smog!

A few more to show where the bar is at for the Middle Earth universe.

How many plays does that LOTR have on it?

It can have teeth! No interaction with Pinballs. Remember.

Damn, there goes the, "Chopper sic balls!" mode.
