Well that's disappointing. I know they were catching up on their backlog for months, but I wonder how much of a priority AS is for them. Sounds like they still don't have a master. At this rate, I'd be shocked if these get produced this year.

No news about a free playfield in a correct state of use. We are all looking for.
I'm looking everyday in a french website and it take more than one year that I haven't seen a GTB Alien Star
No news about a mirco reproduction also.
I've start to rework on a drawing on inkscape but this is an alternative for a further uvprinting.
wow, nice work. looks like it's based on my scan I posted up, just a reminder that the ring on the right pop shouldn't be running through the ship on the original, I just did that on mine so as not to have to try and paint in the missing part of the ship.
edit: here is my scan before I did any cleaning or touch up paint. https://www.dropbox.com/s/aey987fn6luw53j/AS-prescan.zip?dl=0
Thanks,
Of course I'm using you're scan, and also scan of my playfield with my hand scan.
My scan before I clean to blank my playfield entirely.
I've some differences for the drilling and I'will issue a blank printing on an overlay before to adjust the drilling and the position.
But now I want to play with my Alien Star, and I'willt ake more than 5 year I'vent play with.
In any case thanks for you're scan that help me very very.
Quoted from jr-007:No news about a mirco reproduction also.
i checked again with Mirco in December about sending my beat up PF and using BorgDog scan to make a repro and he said to follow up with him in March due to his current workload. slim but hope is still alive-
I'll have to make some hard decisions if a reproduction playfield doesn't get released this year. Fingers still crossed on Mirco. I don't like having projects in limbo that take up my limited workspace.
At some point I'd rather sand just my playfield down to a white wood & clear it. I'm not a fan of overlays. They just aren't an option for me.
Quoted from jim5six:Sand away gentlemen! I love having an Alien Scar I can play now... Also it gets you to do all the other work, So when you can do the swap you know everything else is working and you dont have to rebuild it all at once. Just my 2 cents!

Yeah good point. I'll just keep playing yours Jim. haha
Quoted from jr-007:I've work on the Alien. Here my current playfield reproduction picture.

that looks awesome! nice work.

Wow! Looks amazing.
Quoted from jr-007:What do you think about the use of universe's pictures for the background.
Love the stars in background, I would want some purple and blueish highlights to better show the close star at his arm so it doesn't look like a white flashlight glare. Not a lot of color but just enough to define it without overtaking the Alien.
-Mike
We can change the position of the background and also change the pictures. I ve tried with 3 different pictures. But not takes necessary time. In the same times I continue to drawn blue stars as on original playfield
Quoted from jr-007:As I've explained it was a test.
I'm looking for a vectorized picture to integrate in my playfield.(I don't know result using a big jpeg )
I've find a simple star sky on canstock, but I've to purchase it before. It'would be look to that.
[quoted image]
That looks good, the other is too busy.
The blurred out stars don't really fit with the rest of the art... They should have definite shapes with sharp edges since they're silkscreened
Quoted from jr-007:Ok I understand. As I've already say, I continue to drown the star as per on original
[quoted image]
While it is tedious work to draw each star individually, the graphics will look correct & appear far superior when compared to a stock starfield photo.
Your effort is appreciated by all in this thread Keep up the good work!
Also amazed at your work! Once you are done do you plan on just printing for yourself, or do you plan on getting this to Mirco / CPR / others to do a run of them for sale ?
First as a lot of people I want to have a new playfield.
If Mirco/CPR / others are interested with my work, why not ?
Goal is not to make money.
Currently working on the white star, but it's incredible the number of total's playfield stars.
Also next step, I will issue a test of the drilling position by printing on a transparent (invisible) vinyl
Ablouste awesome work, I will be keen as for a new playfield, this topic is on my fav, going to keep an eye out. Had the Alien Star for since 1994.
Very cool progress to see!
Just don't forget to update the yellow ring around that one pop bumper.
-Hans
here is a cut of the scan on mine before I redid it. I rotated the yellow on the right pop to disguise that I wasn't going to repaint the ship (no talent for that). I also left off the white ring as I like it better without. All of this was noted when I first uploaded my final scan, that it was not exact to original.
Quoted from jr-007:more than 5300 objects for white stars[quoted image]
damn, that looks awesome!
Many thanks for all your message.
Unfortunately, I havent got Time last month for working on the drawn. I will continue next weeks
Quoted from HoakyPoaky:Well it's been 4 months.... might as well ask again
Any updates from Mirco or jr-007?
good point, it's time for me to nudge him again this, brb-

he is running through his backorder and other projects so nothing until at least 2023-
I may be able to help with getting a good scan of this playfield. I know nothing about scanning playfield, but I can learn.
I came across what is essentially a NOS playfield that was put into a game and had less than 200 plays (according to the operator) before it broke down and was taken off of location and placed in a warehouse. It has some minor scratches/gouges above the left sling, and typical beginnings of planking, but otherwise the rest of the playfield appears to be in phenominal shape.

That is good to know. I guess I will still strip this one and get it clear coated.
Quoted from pins4life33:At this point I would even live with a hardtop anyone approach Outside Edge yet?
have they done Gottlieb yet? I assumed the license may be difficult to get for those?
