I have a roadshow that I am trying to fix the Ted eyelids.
I think I have the wrong coil.
I removed the old sm-31-900 DC. But on my new coils, it only says sm-31-900. And it energizes immediately.

Have I got the wrong coil?

The old coil did not have a diode, neither does this one.
I think I maybe have wired it wrong, if it should work.

Just to clarify, the coil locking on is the eyelids close on Ted.
And the rest of the coils in the head stopped working.
(And I don't dare to test it other than in short bursts.)

Have I got the wrong coils?

In the manual it says sm-31-900 DC, and I have the sm-31-900. I can't see any diode in the working Red head.
And I don't have any diodes in the Ted head.

I left my multimeter at the club house, and the game will be picked up tomorrow.

If I put in the coil sm-31-900 DC that I have on the Red head, that will maybe solve things later down the line when I change the transistor?

Thank you for all the help!

Reading back on this thread, I see that I forgot a crucial part. The original coil did work, but it was worn out on the inside. That was the reason for the coil swap, not that is was broken.

I gave up eventually, pieced the machine together and fired it up. Everything worked perfectly.
I thing that my problem was that when I tested it, I only manually pushed in the interlock switch to get the coils working, and did not close the coin door.

I hope I don't have to work on the Ted head for a long time!

Thank you for your help!
