Set up my newly acquired game today, the ball shot out once when I hit one of the pitch buttons, then the ball wouldn’t shoot out any longer, I have 5 balls installed I believe.

I’ll lift the hood tomorrow, any things I should look at first?

Quoted from whitey:

Going to start a complete restoration on a Slugfest . I’ve been s huge fan for years. Thinking of blue T mold, blue powder coat on legs and all stainless trim
Has anyone seen mirror blades or side art ??? I have 2 of these now happy to
Pay someone to do these !
Thanks, hit me up with any ideas[quoted image]

I’ve been thinking of white trim, legs and t molding, to give that baseball pinstripe feel, wander if red stitching on the legs is possible

Hey man, I know you’re not ducking out forever, but before your game sells, I want to say thank you for all the time, wisdom and experience (and I’m sure sometimes parts) that you’ve shared . You’ve been an asset to this club.

I’m working on my bat assembly, and found this post is worn a lot, it’s causing the bat to get hung up and not swing sometimes, what do you guys recommend I do to remedy this?

Quoted from That_Pin_Dude:

...and it looks like you have a random bolt and nylock fastener where the shoulder bolt and roller should be:

Thank you, I will get all that stuff ordered.

I’m having 2 more issues

This game is a basket case, there were plugs plugged in incorrectly all over the place, it’s taken me all afternoon to trace it all down.

1. The homerun Opto‘s are not working,

Here’s a photo of the opto board wiring. Is it correct?
How do I test to make sure it’s the board, or all three Opto‘s?

2. The right three segments of the DMD are not working, is there a good link for me to follow to do the repair?

Thank you very much, I appreciate the help

Quoted from MadMaxDad:

Get a ColorDMD display - really makes the machine look 20 years ‘younger’

Ha yes!!!! Only 400$

Thanks everyone, I’ll report back after I get things rolling better

I have a wire pulled from its connector, from the control panel, can someone please post a photo or description on where it goes?

Quoted from Skooiker:

Hey guys, just joined the club a week ago, can anyone tell me how much is the curve ball supposed to curve and just what is the screwball supposed to do. Because my curve ball maybe curves ever so slightly sometimes but nothing noticable and the screw ball doesn't appear to do much. The magnet works in test. Thanks

I second this, my magnet works in test as well. However I will throw multiple fastballs, then a screwball, which will be a fastball, then a change up, which will be a screwball. This goes on with almost every pitch. Everything checks out in switch test as well

#1081 3 years ago
Quoted from Wake2wood:

Dont forget in single player mode all pitches are random no matter what button is pushed.

Ahhhhh, I didn’t know this, I bet it’s in the manual that I haven’t read

#1085 3 years ago
Quoted from TicTacSeth:

Mine has a little different problem, hard to get the ball to make it over the fence .... especially straight on.

I rebuilt my bat mech, it cost about $100, but was totally worth it, we hit the ball out of the park most of the time now

Quoted from bossk4hire:

How do you keep it from bouncing out, most of mine hit the plastic mesh and bounce back for a foul ball.

Check your tilt, check your ramp. Sounds like a ramp issue

Quoted from jjoravec:

Working on a slugfest and the fast ball is coming down like a curve or screwball. The magnet is really affecting it. Any idea how to adjust it or fix the problem?
Thanks

Are you playing on 1 or 2 player?

To my knowledge...

1 player is novelty where the ball will be affected by the magnet on almost every pitch,

2 player mode the pitches will be correct according to the pitch button that is pressed

Quoted from RobF:

I picked up a decent condition Slugfest this past week and even though it was listed as "everything working", I quickly found that wasn't exactly the case. The center ramp wasn't going up and found the broken chunk at the bottom of the cabinet. I assume this is a common failure?
[quoted image]
I looked for a replacement, but it seems they are no longer available. I found the repair part on thingiverse for printing, but I wanted to try to 3d model the whole part. After 20 or so iterations, I have a finished part. I still have yet to test fit it, but my calipers say it will do the job. JB weld repaired original on the left, newly printed on the right. Next up is attempting to print the flap itself and then testing in the game.

Very cool, yes, please share this somehow

Quoted from TicTacSeth:

Anyone ever try to put in starting lineup figures or anything like that in place of the cards next to the DMD? Just curious. Didn’t see anything in the club.

Good idea, show us if you do it!

#1377 1 year ago
Quoted from TicTacSeth:

Well, I should have gone taller rather than wider with the trial figure. It does look like I could put it right on top of the home run a bit in front of the edge of the DMD sign and put a taller figure in the back. But I will have to try a tall figure next.
The batting figures mid swing and the pitching figures I’m wondering if they will be too wide too, but I’ll keep trying.
[quoted image]
Update: I take it back, this could work well by just putting it at an angle. I’ll play with it, I need some kind of a platform as that ledge angles downward.

I like where you’re going with this!

I notice some decals with Stars and Stripes above your homerun plastics, I don’t have those on my game, does anyone have a source for them?
