Also looks like J206 is not pushed on properly.
Thank you all again. J211 was not connected all the way so that is fixed but didn’t fix the root issue.
Everything in the Columns seem to be working. Just everything in that specific row seems to be out.
I have hadn’t time to work on it the last few days but will work to test the switches, connection and wires on that row starting from the board and see if anything pops up later this week. Learning my machine inside and out for sure!
Can someone share a pic of the top of the card dispenser, specifically where the cards are at the discharge spot? Thanx in advance.

Note the condition of the O-rings on the discharge wheel. They are typically found in poor condition. They can be replaced with rings found in the plumbing dept. at the hardware store.
Not an endorsement as I bought a set, but some cool custom Side Art up on ebay for the game. I should have mine on shortly!

I grabbed a set too, thanks!
For those who have the Color DMD for their Slugfest, do you feel it was worth it? I've always questioned whether there are enough animations to make it worth the upgrade to color. Curious to hear thoughts - if you have it, would you upgrade to color DMD if you did it over again?
Quoted from midcoastsurf:ColorDMD for their Slugfest, do you feel it was worth it?
I’m very biased since I did the coloring for the title! The original Slugfest DMD had almost no detail - the runners were just solid orange.
It was fun to color and challenging to figure out how to color the scoreboard since it shows up in so many variations. I think the ColorDMD adds a lot to the machine and really makes it look more modern. But again, I’m biased. Go back to post #1089 for a link to ColorDMD Trailer on YouTube

I love your work and it was nothing against the quality of the dots - only the quantity of animations in the game. I'll re-visit the trailer. Thanks!

Picked up a ColorDMD for Slugfest, which I have yet to install. What sold me from the trailer was I felt the line score was easier to read at a glance with the numerals being white, and the colored animations gave it a modern feel while retaining the vintage DMD look.
Just joined the club and I have a pesky string of GI that won’t light.
It’s the lower row of the infield GI toward the front of the game.
Interestingly enough the upper row works fine, and if I reverse the orientation of the plug the lower does too, meaning it’s not the bulbs.
I checked the GI connections in the backbox and they seem fine. Any ideas?

Have you checked continuity in the wiring? Sounds like half your plug isn't getting power, but you can confirm with a DMM. I'd then check power at the pins on the board the feeds that plug power to isolate if it's a wiring or board issue.
Anyone ever try to put in starting lineup figures or anything like that in place of the cards next to the DMD? Just curious. Didn’t see anything in the club.

Well, I should have gone taller rather than wider with the trial figure. It does look like I could put it right on top of the home run a bit in front of the edge of the DMD sign and put a taller figure in the back. But I will have to try a tall figure next.
The batting figures mid swing and the pitching figures I’m wondering if they will be too wide too, but I’ll keep trying.

Update: I take it back, this could work well by just putting it at an angle. I’ll play with it, I need some kind of a platform as that ledge angles downward.

Add a bunch of white LED's in a line from the pitcher to the catcher and have it run in a sequence pattern during attract mode like those old school neon signs

I’m likely not going that quality with it haha. Might add some LEDs to light them up though since the light from the top will likely cast a ton of shadows.
Hi All - I have an issue with my bat, and hoping to get a little advice. First, the bat hits fine! That is good. However, it recently started to return slowly. I did some inspection, and here is what I learned, and please bear with me, I am somewhat of a novice.
I noticed the bat is touching the playfield, so when it returns, it is lightly "dragging" on the playfield as the bat returns.
Any advice on what to look at first? Coil Sleeve maybe? Is there a way to raise the bat so that it does not drag on playfield?
Thanks!

Screen Shot 2022-06-27 at 1.15.21 PM (resized).pngBefore I open it up, I got a couple more figures. The McFarlane 3” figures all seem to appear to fit pretty well. The platform inside that they would sit on is a downward slope though, so need to create a shim most likely.
I like the swinging Piazza figure, but really wanted to go with Yankees and Cubs as that’s the teams I set up in the game. Would also be cool to either put the team logo over the cards behind them, or their own player cards.

had to adjust the position of the ramp lifting motor. Loosen some screws, move it a bit and it's a bit better. I'm still worried about a ball falling under there, but so far so good.

Any strategies out there besides being patient with The Heckler?

I either try to go for runs or try to go for score(heckler). Heckler is the only way to go when it comes to score. Try to swing late or early depending on where the singles are as singles are the best way to load the bases. Some people adjust pinch hit in the options so it gives you 1 per credit(inning). So thats 9 free singles right there. I like to play with 1 pinch hit per game to make it more strategic but it's however you want to set it up really.

I agree with what he has to say here. I will add a few things. To get best control on how to hit it on each side, I do it by playing a curve ball and swinging late for the right side 2 targets, and a swing early fastball for the left 2.
You can squeeze out 15 innings, BUT ONLY if crediting your game to max 9 at the start and achieving maximum grand slam extra innings, and 10 run milestones (4 free innings for 40 runs MAX)
If you play with 1 credit factory 3 inning start, 15 innings is unachievable.
Now I will say that I am unsure how these extra innings are calculated. The milestones give you an inning for every 10 runs. And again, it stops after 40 runs are reached. But the game will still deal out extra innings for your first couple GS’s. It seems if your run production is low for the first few innings, you don’t get rewarded with extra innings opportunities from grand slams. Seriously.
I don’t know what makes 15 runs the max, however I can tell you if I don’t crush a couple grand slams early, and get 40 runs by the say the 6th inning, I will be only getting 13 innings max because of no “grand slam extra inning bonus” will be available for extra inning after that point.
Test it out with the glass off so someone could actually tell me what it is. I don’t care enough to figure it out for myself, I just would love to know the exact rule to it.
If your game is adjusted correctly, your grand slam pitch (if chosen) should be a most true in this scenario. For instance all you need to do is choose change up, and it throws a slow pitch, no magnet, no crazy spin. And the first pitch change up is ALWAYS a meatball. Additionally your grand slam scoring starts at 500,000 and then doubles for every successful grand slam IN THE SAME INNING( maxing out at 8 million, and repeating at 8 million for every next GS). If you get your first or 2nd out while in a grand slam opportunity, you need to reestablish the grand slam with a single, or else you will not get credit for the grand slam (because there’s no heckler mode after an out).
Just keep in mind, if you’re going for a score, it’s not about how many runs are made, it’s how they are made. If you hit the grand slams hard and fast early without using your pinch hitters, you are golden for a security blanket of a few shitty innings to get out of your system.
P.S. I swear I’ve edited this post like 5 times remembering more to share lol. I’m sure if it’s not been mentioned, this should be good info to base your gameplay on.

I've never broken 100. I think it's 89 or something. I don't play extra innings, only 1 pinch hit per 9 innings, random computer pitches and extra hard(or whatever the hardest is) pitching and outs is how I play now. I find it way more fun that way.

Hmm...I have a bent plastic guard, so there is no DMD reflection onto the playfield glass. It's the playfield lights shining directly at the DMD display that's the issue. Maybe this would diffuse those lights...not sure
What about, has anyone done something to diffuse the lights that are supposed to highlight the player targets? I feel like they glare onto the playfield too much!

Sounds like someone needs to create and sell a total anti-glare kit for Slugfest . It has lights shining differently (areas/angles) than pinball machines.

Ha, totally. I just took the lights out all together so the glare would be gone, but thinking a 3D printer could create some kind of plug to go right in those holes to direct the light right at the players and not down at the playfield. I am thinking I might byu some flexible LEDs too, but having trouble finding the longer flex bulbs, which I would want for this vs the short.
Hi there,
Just joined the club this weekend. Been looking for one of these for a while and I'm quite happy with the purchase.
I've noticed some issues with my game that I'd like to ask about in here.
1. I'm having similar home-run ramp issues as others have said. I might only get about 20% of my shots that go up the ramp to actually go out of the park. It seems like I hit the top of the bleacher plastic about 60% of the time, or hit the top mesh and have it rejected for a foul the other 20%.
I have the game at about 6.5 degree pitch as that's all I could get with the legs I have, although i know the manual says 7 degrees.
2. I left the game on while I went to get lunch yesterday and came back to no sound. I reseated speaker connections at the audio board but still nothing. Asking in case anybody else has had this issue with WPC games.
Thanks

I was having problems with home runs when I first got mine. The issue was the wear in the linkages to the bat under the playfield. Two on mine were worn out: one was easy to find and replace, the other impossible. For the impossible one, I had the idea to find someone to weld a washer into it, which I did and it worked great after that!
But before that extreme, take a look at how work the links are under the playfield, the whole bat mechanism gets worn like crazy.

Congrats on your game purchase.
