A few things:

1) If you've been trying to get the ball over the fence with no luck and haven't changed your bat linkage with the oblong slot, do it. I went through all the washer, tape on the spindle, jacking the back of the game up, with little success. Replaced the linkage, bang, she's out of here.

2) A few months ago I was looking for help on the last group of lights I just couldn't seem to get to come on, those behind the facade and the 2 shining down on the baseball cards. Did this that and the other thing everyone recommended on here & facebook, to no available. Finally came back yesterday for another go. Voltage to all sockets, so I decided to hook up a test socket. It lit with one side clipped to the incoming line and the other to the ground in the head. None of the 12 lit. Turns out everyone of those 12 need the sockets fiddled with, even though I'd put LEDs in months ago. Still have the jumper to the ground, otherwise they don't work, though they do seem to be functioning properly this way. Shutting off during the anthem and coming back after. Am I looking for a smoke show if I leave things this way?

3) How much T-Molding do I need to order to redo this machine?

Hi!
I ordered Flipper Fidelity speakers for my Slugfest (Williams/Bally WPC-89 Alpha Numeric).
I can’t figure Out the right way to plug them in as my Slugfest doesn’t have a 1-pin connector or a connector at j505 to remove.
Help would ne greatly appreciated

My restoration is finally over (minus woffer who’s not working...)
Lots of cool features; custom bat, stadium lights, lighted topper and more.
Great game.
Question: how many balls there is in this game?

6 the manual says. I love the stadium spot lights! Looks killer!

Random rules question that I've been curious about - is there some criteria that raises the ramp during game play

Look in the manual. There are settings for when and how often the ramp rises. I know it comes up when the heckler is teasing you and a possible grand slam is at stake.

Can you point me to where you are looking? I know the ramp comes up for the grand slam. It seems to raise at other times during the game but I don't know what is triggering it. Nothing is jumping out at me in the manual...

If anyone has one they are looking to sell in Southeast (I'm in SC but willing to drive) give me a shout. Thanks! Jeff

Pretty sure default is to lift when the bases are loaded. I never steal unless I can't fill the bases.

It raises for the grand slam opportunity for sure. The ramp is raising at other times during the game as well and those are the times I'm trying to follow what triggers it or if it is truly random. Not a huge deal but I've been very curious about this ha.

I’m working on my bat assembly, and found this post is worn a lot, it’s causing the bat to get hung up and not swing sometimes, what do you guys recommend I do to remedy this?

Thank you, I will get all that stuff ordered.

I’m having 2 more issues

This game is a basket case, there were plugs plugged in incorrectly all over the place, it’s taken me all afternoon to trace it all down.

1. The homerun Opto‘s are not working,

Here’s a photo of the opto board wiring. Is it correct?
How do I test to make sure it’s the board, or all three Opto‘s?

2. The right three segments of the DMD are not working, is there a good link for me to follow to do the repair?

Thank you very much, I appreciate the help

The wiring looks correct compared to my 3 opto board, but your wires sure seem mangled. I would use a multimeter and test those wires from end to end to make sure there are no breaks in them. Then you should be able to test the optos in the test menu while putting your finger in between each one.

It looks like someone has done work on that opto board and replaced the transistor chip at some point. It is possible that they messed up some of the traces by the legs of the chip.

If the opto board isn't working, PBL sells a replacement opto board that will work:
https://www.pinballlife.com/3-opto-ramp-switch-assembly.html

Good luck.

Oh, and there really is no easy way to fix a DMD if it is failing, you need to replace it. If you have another pinball with a 128x32 DMD in it, just swap it temporarily to see if the problem goes away. If it does, you need a new DMD, if not, your DMD driver board needs work. DMD driver boards tend to fail from temperature damage in the high voltage section of the board.

I don't have that connector close to my board. I can see it half way in the cabnet.
But I do have yellow wires that connect into the pitch buttons

How do.you all have your leg levelers set? Like a pinball with the back set higher or the same on all four. Mine came with the back legs set higher.

Also having alot of homeruns kick back onto the playfield after hitting the plastic mesh.

Hey guys, just joined the club a week ago, can anyone tell me how much is the curve ball supposed to curve and just what is the screwball supposed to do. Because my curve ball maybe curves ever so slightly sometimes but nothing noticable and the screw ball doesn't appear to do much. The magnet works in test. Thanks

I second this, my magnet works in test as well. However I will throw multiple fastballs, then a screwball, which will be a fastball, then a change up, which will be a screwball. This goes on with almost every pitch. Everything checks out in switch test as well

3 quick questions:

What angle do you all have the playfield set to?

My home runs hit the plastic net alot and bounce back... and adjustments yall have done?

Anyone upgraded the speakers? If so how and what? I was thinking a set of car speakers.

Thanks!

The NVRAM replace the 6810 chip on the MPU. Unfortunately Williams solders that chip in so it must be professionally removed and replaced with a socket. If you do not have good soldering equipment I recommend sending the board out to a pro. That's what I did.

So I am fixing up my new (to me) SlugFest and about every other pitch throws out 2 balls. When I test it on Fast, the arm rotates about 1.5 turns which makes every few pitches spit out two balls. It's not allowing two balls in the chamber, it's just spinning enough to pitch twice intermittently. How can I slow down the motor or get the sensor to realize it's spun already? Not sure if it's an opto problem but if it is, how do I test?

I have loved pitch and bat games since I was very young.

I think they are random, and just being able to hit the ball.

Am I wrong?

Are there any tricks I have been missing out on to get more great shots with these games?

It was amazing how short wiki was with these games.

(I think every game room could use some kind of pitch and bat for awesome variety).
