I am not sure how many people have this problem with Target Alpha. In actuality I did not know I had an issue until I came across this video. Does anyone know if this is a specific Target Alpha issue or is this common in other late 1970's Gottlieb EM's The issue occurs after the end of the ball when scoring bonus. The bonus step motor scores bonus point slower than it should. The issue is a switch on the under side of the bonus step unit that is supposed to keep the Bonus Relay closed. If the switch is not tight, it can open when providing bonus points, in turn causing the G relay to open and slowing the whole bonus scoring process.
A link to a Youtube video is below that explains the problem. You can start viewing at 37:20.
Has anyone else had this problem on other EM's beside TA?
I tried to fix this last night, did not fix the issue but also did not spend a lot of time on it. I'll try again this weekend. The switch is a real pain to work on.
