Can someone help us out re fuses for both our Locomotion and Firepower pins

I have read a few docs on the Firepower and also on the Zaccaria from several people but they don't seam to mention which fuses are slow or fast blow and as we are just starting out restoring both these pins would love some help as to what to use before we power them up.

The Locomotion has 7 fuses on the PSU board and 2 more under the play-field and 4 on the transformer board.

The Firepower we are not sure of yet as we are picking it up this Friday but any assistance would be appreciated

    Firepower fuses.
Sound board F1 4 amp slow blow F2 4 amp slow blow
    Power board F1 1/4 amp slow blow F2 2.5 amp slow blow F3 8 amp F4 10 amp F5 4 amp slow blow
Backbox fuse card 6F1 20 amp (GI yellow wire) 6F2 4 amp (Logic AC grey wire) 6F3 4 amp (Logic AC grey wire)
Main fuse 7.5 amp 115v or 4 amp for 230v (located in bottom cabinet near service outlet)

cheers for that just need to work out the Locomotion ones as am sure they are also a mixture and don't want to power it on before I get the right fueses in

See the fuses mentioned here - they all appear to be fast blow:
    http://www.zaccaria-pinball.com/gen1/repairs.html

Generally speaking, when a circuit requires a slow blow fuse it will be specifically stated. If there's no mention of slow blow or fast blow then fast blow is presumed.

Looking at the schematic of the Locomotion power board, those fuses all look like fast blow based on the circuit design.

yes seen that but normal what was confusing us as some elements need fast and some slow. So fast it is everywhere unless stated. We still have all the original labels for the fuses but they just gave the amps

    Cheers though

As far as I know you can never go wrong using the correct amp fast blow fuse anywhere. The issue using a "fast blow" somewhere that should have a "slow blow" is the fuse might blow when there isn't an issue causing it to blow. Basically a slow blow is just a little more forgiving of spikes in amps that occur in some applications.

So if you are unsure you should do no damage to your machine using a fast blow fuse in all applications. But if you have an issue with that fast blow fuse blowing it might be an application that should have a slow blow instead. Most of the time schematics or service manuals should tell you what fuses to use.

To quote, he refers to "(Normal or Slo Blo)", so by Normal he means fast blow.
It looks like Zaccaria may have used higher value fast blow fuses (because they're cheaper) where the type of circuit might better call for using lower value slow blow fuses. Eg, you could probably use 1.0A to 1.25A slow blow fuses where the coils are instead of the 3 amp fast blow fuses as stated.

That's fair enough as I think most of our bought fuses are fast blow which is good but will get a good few slo for the Firepower.
Can't wait to power this up but thats a week away compared to what I thought it would be.

I can see were you are coming from re the manufacturers will probably stick with what they say to put in and if we get issues will try the alternative

Get quality slow blows that are spring/coil type. The cheap slow blows with the small looking solder spot in the middle of the straight fuse wire are not designed to take repeated high current surges so fail prematurely in solenoid circuits.
