Good choice to stay away from those skill stops from Japan. I have one.

Quoted from skywelker:

At what price point is it worth picking one of these up just to have in the gameroom? Like $50?

That would depend on a lot of things. But in reality I don't see people having these as actual gambling devices in their home. Are you really going to take people's money and/or give payouts? Probably no. You end up providing the quarters and just let people play them for the novelty of it. So...imo...there is no novelty in a flashy one that takes bills etc. Every bar these days has electronic slot like machines. The novelty is with the older mechanical slots, imho. They grab interest because they are antiques and cool. The others are a waste of space, imo. I am an EM guy, so maybe that plays a part too. My igt has a cool fishing theme which I thought would be great for my location, but B O R I N G. Put a Bally Skill Roll in instead. Igt is in storage waiting to be sold at a yard sale. Now, if a really cool antique slot presented itself...I would buy very quickly and invent more space for it, for the novelty of it.
