Who owns and or has experience with slot machines? I am looking at a slot machine on craigslist, it's a Aristocrat power pay 5 cent machine. Asking 250.00 After hours of research I can find no information on this machine or an idea of it's value? I have called the guy and found out the screen just has lines running through it and will not boot up so it will need to be repaired. I have absolutely no experience with slots and not really good at board work. Is this a good deal or would I be screwing myself?
Including link for pictures....

Hey, not being a downer but check state law.

Slot machines are not always legal in all areas and can be confiscated or worse.

At $250 pass on it. Not working, pass on it. Pachislo machines don't go for much unless it is a popular license like Star Wars or something. Going to a game store or dealer you will pay a lot for them but real world street values are around $100 - 150 on a non-screen version and $150 - 250 for one with a screen. Non-working they usually get scrapped.

Skip broken machines, Always. Plenty of working ones.

25 years 0ld, and its good. I'll wait for Mr Bally to chime in, but this is pretty much the Golden Rule in the United States.

wasn't sure what a Pachislo machine was but after a quick google search, is that what it is?

Where did you come up with this age? I am unable to find any information on this game.

25 years and older is considered antique.

Nit in Indiana at least. Has to 40 years at minimum.

The machine you linked is a boat anchor, avoid... I see your state says "pre 1950" for legality, but I know many states do not enforce the slot ownership laws. I also know first hand that most law enforcement in restricted states don't even know that they are illegal to own. As long as your not running a casino out of your garage, you should be fine.

For reliability, go with a 90's IGT S+ machine, as reliable as they come..

Ditto. Look for IGT S+ or IGT S2000.

Thanks for the input guys, I am passing on this. I offered 150.00 for it and he didn't bite.

Personally, I love the mid 90's Williams 40X machines. I now have 8 of them and other than the stock power supply (which can be replaced), they are bulletproof. But to each their own.

Go to the forums at New Life Games for slot info and getting questions answered. Its pretty much the pinside of slots. Not nearly as active (depending on topic I suppose) but a wealth of knowledge there.
