Working on a Harlem Globetrotters On Tour, and the right slingshot makes the ball hit the glass pretty often. I'm wondering what might cause this. Maybe it needs a new plastic sling shot head? Some adjustment? I thought it would be the "double rubber rings" previously installed on the slings, but that didn't fix it. The ball seems to jump straight up, not bounce off anything.

The pivot joint is worn and now has too much play.

Replace the mech:

Can also happen if the screws don't stay tight in the playfield and the mech is starting to fall off. Good to get rid of the doubled up rings, that's awful.

Yeah, the current owner said the former owners had maintained it, but signs point the other direction. There were lots of easy fixes and the thing was dirty as sin. I'm just glad the double rings didn't bend the posts or worse.

Digging up this old thread. This part appears to be out of stock everywhere. Is there a suitable replacement? I have sloppy slingshots on my Mata Hari. Thanks.
