My first thought as soon as I read this thread title was Stargate. I just sold mine after being in my collection by far the longest of any game (10 years). It checks every box for what you are looking for. Great rules which make you shoot all over the playfield, drops which you need to hit in a sequential order, two sets of modes and wizard modes, a great skill shot and a nice backglass.
