Hey guys,

Getting a Slam Tilt Switch Stuck Closed on TAF. Here are current observations:

1. Tried a new Slam Tilt Switch from FT that I know works and same issue occurs.
2. Switch is not physically closed (i.e. verified switch leafs were not touching)
3. When "buzzing" with a multi meter from one of the leafs on the slam tilt switch to the ground braid I get continuity but typically only when the game is turned on?!?!
4. No row ground shorts in switch test mode
5. Unplugging the coin door from the PCB board at the front of the cab CLEARS the error.

Thanks for any help you can provide!!

Are the screws on the slam switch shorting the leafs together?

I tried a different slam tilt switch from another game and it had the same issue. Wouldn't this rule out this option?

I'm assuming it also does it with the slam tilt switch disconnected. There is not enough information posted to help you, but I believe it's safe to say that the most likely cause is row 1 being pulled low at the wrong time. If its truly stuck closed all the time posting a pic of your switch matrix in edge test would be very helpful.

Make sure your little insulator cardboard is in place where the weight rests against the door. If the switch blade contacts the metal door directly, it will short and register as closed.

Yes it does.

Thank you. I will post a pic of this.

My slam tilt switch is screwed to bottom of the cab and not the coin door. Is this what you are referring to?

There is also a slam tilt switch on the back side of the coin door. Maybe that's where the problem is and not on the one in the bottom of the cabinet.
