It's about time someone started a Skyrocket - Firecracker thread!

My Skyrocket is serial #1564.

I just bought the USA version Firecracker project in NJ, essentially in my backyard. The backglass has touch-ups but will be fine. The playfield should clean up well. The head will be coming from a mutual collector friend in the future. I agree that the German version is far more common. In fact, the USA version is scarcely seen.

I've nearly completed a Gator restoration recently. . .just waiting for a good backglass from a friend and a few other tasks. My current Gator backglass is degraded in several areas. It's a 5 digit prototype backglass. I always liked the soothing pale green on Gator's playfield and apron and the vectors appeal to me.

Expressway is still a favorite in my Bally line-up section and looks very good flanking Skyrocket. Among my Bally EMs, gone are 2 Cosmos, 2 Rocket III, a Surfers, MiniZag and a Fireball. I miss Cosmos the most. Attached are several photos of some of these Bally EMs.

Obligatory Firecracker pick-up photo earlier today.

Quoted from Ballypin:

You forgot the head !!
Happy to be able to fix that for you.
BTW, I believe there is another game we *could* add to this club. Details coming soon....
Stay tuned.

I'm looking forward to your visit. I'm thrilled that your cargo will reunite Firecracker with its head! Those reunions too rarely occur.

Also looking forward to learning about the game to be potentially added to this club.

Many thanks to Ballypin for reuniting this Firecracker head with its cabinet!

Through serendipitous circumstances, this New Jersey game forfeited its head to Ohio but found its way back today, thanks to Ballypin's generosity.

The restoration can now continue and another Firecracker will snap, crackle, snap again.

The Firecracker restoration is progressing.

The backbox is missing the header, as depicted. I'm hoping that a trashed similar head exists and I can utilize that piece for my game. I can, of course, repaint such a piece to match.

If anyone knows of a similarly-sized trashed head, please contact me. It would save me the time to make one from scratch.

I finished this Firecracker project a couple of months ago, with much help from Ballypin. I was tempted to place Firecracker beside Skyrocket. In the end, she seems content next to fellow Bally multiplayer, Gator.

For those who haven't yet read about Harry's designs for Bally, here's the seminal article:

Quoted from Ballypin:

For those not following the MOP auction in Banning, CA tonight, the Skyrocket went for a hammer of $ 2,600. Taxes and fees extra.
Value of this game has…uh….you know.

Over $3K with buyer's premium.

Quoted from Woodym:

Does anyone have a schematic for Firecracker? Every time the ball hits a bumper it blows the 50v fuse.

Send me a message with your cell. I have a schematic.

Nic, You're all over this game. The seller's ad describes the cabinet as having a "nick here and there." ;>
