I have received several requests to build these and sell them. To be honest I need another project like I need a hole in the head.
I've also been asked to sell the plans by many.
Here's the deal they are free to all ..........but......... If they have any value to you please send $ 10.00 to your local food bank and we can call it even.
The fact that we can own even one Pinball machine makes us blessed,so help those less fortunate.
This is the honor system. Thanks

The pivot nut is the same nut used in the pinball cabinet. It allows me to slide the play field into the rotisserie .if you look on my old thread I believe I have pictures of it.

    #13 11 years ago

Yes the dowel is used to lock in the table. If you wish you can turn a small handle if you own a lathe. That's what I did.

You can always use the angle iron on both ends,at least with most playfields

    1. 2 1/4 deep thread drywall screws and wood glue ( I predrill/countersink)
    2. 1 1/2 x1/4 round head and a non slip nut (just drill an oversize hole through both pieces, off set the thickness of the angle)
3.pivot nut and bolts- Pinball life,or Marco

I designed this after seeing one at a friends in Salem. He may have got it from Mike.

I recently built a second unit and used 4 swivel casters. This is a better idea FYI

Looks great, pick up 3 Sterilite 28 Qt trays at Home depot or Target. Great for organizing parts.

    #38 9 years ago

    Chris,
I actually never produced these for others. I have tried very hard not to make this hobby a business. I get tied down to any commitments to other and feel obligated when I promise things. If I ever change this decision I will let you know. Sorry

I have done a couple updates to the rotisserie due to wear. The table was becoming wobbly as the holes for the locking handle became oblong. Just wanted to share.

If anyone has more build pics or any tips please post them. I may tackle this this weekend.

PM or post any issues. I'm more than happy to help

Love it, Have one myself. I strongly suggest a good wood glue when you assemble it.

I would like to thank Sky Pilot again for sharing his brilliant design with us.
Donation made to the local food bank.

    You are welcome.

In the coming weeks I will be building a more storable unit. I will do my best to document it .

I was asked to make one of these for a friend. I added the blocking so the sides could be removed and the unit could be stored. Quoted from beelzeboob:

since you sit at a desk answering phones all day

I don't answer phones all day . I have people to do that for me. I tend to nap.

    Quoted from beelzeboob:

list all overpriced Festool products that you use to complete the job.

No Festools were used or harmed in the production and filming of this project.

    Quoted from beelzeboob:

I'm particularly interested in how you round all your edges so that you don't get any splinters in your girlish hands.

I routed all edges with a 1/4" round over bit. I also wore gloves!

    Quoted from wxforecaster:

Sky, do you perhaps have a modified plan set for this? My only hesitation to building one has been no where to put when not in use. But THIS would slide right under my workbench!

I will put one together and post it

One Modification I need to share. I flipped the angle iron. This locks the playfield in. It cannot move forward and come out of the pivot bolts.

    Quoted from etlandfill:

It seems like the octagonal and hexagonal shapes on either side are more for esthetics than functionality,

You need the wider center to accommodate the lazy susan rollers. The ends are thinned down for a slimmer side .It would be bulky and cumbersome if left at the full 8 inches.

    #100 6 years ago
    Quoted from etlandfill:

Great, so the exact dimensions of that slimmed down area don't really matter as long as the lazy Susan fits. Thanks!

    Correct

    Quoted from jwilson:

I built one of these over the weekend and I'm using it, but I'm curious how you attach the playfield.
I had to use four clamps but you seem to not need them?

I originally designed the rotisserie to hold Bally William’s games from the 90s. As you can see we use the bolts that lock into the rail. I’m now working on several Sterns and I have found that a couple pieces of angle iron and clamps do the same thing without me rearranging all my hardware

    Quoted from Spraynard:

For the folks that have made the version that can be disassembled, did you increase the length of the side pieces to compensate for the fact that the upright pieces would sit closer in"? I ask because I'm considering modifying mine, which has the 56" long sides recommended in the original plans. My gut feeling is that losing 1.5" on the inner length probably doesn't matter much.

    It does not matter.

This is how I hold newer play fields on.

On older playfields I just use an angle iron on each end along with clamps.

    Quoted from T3quila:

Quick question: All the lazy susan hardware that I have seen so far says its for mounting horizontally and will not support load mounted vertically. Is that a special one that you all been using?

    No, standard last Susan hardware.

Thanks so much for the plans. Built this for my Flip Flop resto project. Local food bank donation is on its way.
