Did you happen to mention the $800k?

Hey that's cool... since Kevin is responding to your questions, can you ask him to refund us?
Quoted from starfighter:Hey that's cool... since Kevin is responding to your questions, can you ask him to refund us?
Ugh. That's got to be infuriating to people - that some folks, Aaron, Ted, etc can instantly get answers to questions and the people he owes (vast) amounts of money to get ignored.
I'm glad he doesnt owe me money, its this kind of thing that would make it VERY hard for me not to decide to stake out his house and confront him peacefully (and, yes, legally) but directly.

Is there a different email or phone number you use or does kevin just wade through the people he f@#ked and ignore them and talk to you?
You would expect that Kevin's legal counsel has told him not to talk to any customers or media until the courts sort it all out.
Quoted from vid1900:You would expect that Kevin's legal counsel has told him not to talk to any customers or media until the courts sort it all out.
Maybe its this:
"You would expect that Kevin's high school buddy has told him not to talk to any customers or media until they go away."
Quoted from Mitch:Its Bullshit that he can un-post a video but can't post a message or refunds.
He can't give out any refunds until the bankruptcy court gives it's ruling.
Quoted from Mitch:Then why add to the pile of lies and tell everyone refunds are coming "swiftly"?
Because he's a pathological liar. Seriously, the guy lied to everyone, friends and customers alike, for years. And now we're shocked that he can't stop lying?
Quoted from Mitch:Then why add to the pile of lies and tell everyone refunds are coming "swiftly"?
It may have been the last thing he said before he hired counsel who told him "Shut your stupid mouth".
He may not know how long bankruptcy proceedings take because he has not hired counsel yet.
Or maybe he just can't keep himself from lying.

Very true. I'm just very sour from this whole situation still.
Quoted from NJGecko:OK folks...if you want to play in the Predator sandbox, go into that thread.
fair enough.
Sarcasm aside, though, there was some "news" in this that might interest the Predator crowd, namely the first "sign of life" from Kevin since he went into deep hiding a week+ ago....
Quoted from Mitch:Very true. I'm just very sour from this whole situation still.
Everybody is.
Even if your credit card went to bat for you and got your money back, I'm sure everyone would rather have the game.
Sorry for not replying sooner. I have been swamped and new hardware is nearing completion with manufacturing!
I haven't talked with Kevin much since the epic weekend but I did send him a text message regarding the video. He replied he would take care of it.
He has made comments about working through the refund process, etc. Like most of you, I have to take his words as "just words" and wait for the actions.

A few days after we broke things off from a business standpoint, he had called me to say that he was working with PayPal on refunds. Maybe it's happening and its a slow process? I have no idea. I have heard of people who have been refunded but I don't know if that was the result of anything Kevin did or from disputes escalated through banks/cc companies.
So why would he go out of his way to tell me that refunds were in process if it wasnt happening? Who knows. After we broke things off, I was prepared to never hear from him again. I have found that in this situation, when you start asking questions like this you only end up more and more questions.
At this point, I have to let his actions do the talking and just keep focused on our own projects.

Awesome. Should we make a new topic now. We already have a lot of sh*tB threads . I want to talk about funhouse 2.0.
Is it going to be new rules or just dmd animations?

Not happening......unless Rick finds a new group to start working on it.
No "shut up and take my money" pics from anyone? Has everyone wised up, or have they all just gone back to Stern LE pre-orders?

Reports of people getting money back in the big Predator thread have all been credit card chargebacks, not Paypal refunds. So no indication yet that Kevin is doing anything affirmative to process refunds (or if he is doing something, no sign that it's working).
Quoted from mario_1_up:Not sure on funhouse. But I do know J Pop is working with them on his games.
JPOP + Skit-B = you will never see your money again. Heh

I would guess new rules + DMD (PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO COLOR!)
I was playing BoP 2.0 last night, and it was pretty awesome. IMHO the 2.0 concept is a really legit idea.
Color is a must!

So is BOP 2.0 going to be an actual product, of was it a one and done with the pre-order fulfillments? Also, did they ever finish the code?
Quoted from Sjsilver:So is BOP 2.0 going to be an actual product, of was it a one and done with the pre-order fulfillments? Also, did they ever finish the code?
It's an actual product in that people have bought it and own it. I think the idea was they're willing to do more in batches, so if 25 more people want it they'll do a run, or something like that. Similar to my translite projects really. I imagine it helps control costs.
The code is still being worked on, the last update was a few weeks ago I think. But they've promised to keep going until it's done.
The sound was awesome, huge improvement. The animations are smooth and full color is a lot of fun. My only nitpick really is the animations are basically low rez with a dot mask over them, so you get some fuzzy antialiasing going on, they're not pixel sharp like old school dots. But except for some text it all looks really good. The text issues are that it can be a bit blurry.
Quoted from Aurich:the 2.0 concept is a really legit idea.
It is a great idea, but I only pre-pay or invest my money in legitimate projects like bullet trains or other forms of mass transportation.

I wonder what DP thinks of it. From the BOP2.0 threads, exposes one issue. These 20+ year machines have all been repaired in different ways over the years and different levels of repair needed.. They've all been fixed enough to meet the timings of the old software (I.e., as long as it works good enough to function with the error handling / timing expectations / debouncing in old software (that isn't published) .. New 2.0 software has to be deployed in all these situations and seems like a company providing a 2.0 product now has to troubleshoot games that "worked" before.. Seems like not a big win for companies trying to do this.

They do not have to take into account hacks on old games. Buy at your own risk, then fix the game properly.
Hacks are just part, worn out things that are working ok on original software but dont on their software.. So as gaps widen, switches adjusted/wear out, coils wear out, etc.. But not far enough for original software to have problems then you get into a situation where a working game doesn't work anymore. If a company doing this could get the source code for the original, then they could better match it (theres still stuff with proc, etc that may make it hard to match anyways, I don't know).
A company doing this does kind of have to help out as people had "working" games before they upgraded, and just paid you $1500. Its just a gotcha with the 2.0 concept that may not make it all that financially viable.
i'm really concerned about using a BOP 2.0 if this has happened to my playfield.
i mean.. whatza guy to do ? This 2.0 thing could be a mess if i'm in this situation...
how am i supposed to play this new 2.0 game?
would you buy a 2.0 with these kinds of original game issues?

At this point Kevin just appears to be stalling. Saying the refunds are being processed to you is likely his way of using you to spread the propaganda that he wants out there which he would hope will slow down some people from filing legal documents, complaints, etc.

Did I not make it clear in my post that they were just his words and nothing to take seriously?
How was my comment spreading propaganda? Anyone interested in pursuing action should do so. Aggressively. Your accusation here is way out of line.

For what it's worth, I didn't take DCFAN's post as an accusatory statement directed at you that you were intentionally spreading propaganda. Just that Kevin's hope is that propaganda is indirectly being spread to serve whatever his agenda is at this point (stalling or whatever).
My take on the post.
If Kevin was truly given refunds and waiting for Pp he would sent the non Pp refunds by now. There was a lot who sent checks and did not use Pp. It's just a lot of Kevin's BS.

Not your propaganda, Kevin's propaganda. Kevin has shown in recent history to use others to spread the message he wants out there. This has resulted in several Pinsiders including you getting quite a bit of criticism directed toward them.
