just seen this on fb. Didn't know skit-b was working on this.

#2 9 years ago

Not a fan of digitized video of the Rudy toy being used for the dots.

#3 9 years ago

yea, I'm not to sure about it. But it's somthing I've been wanting to see happen funhouse in dmd.

#4 9 years ago

Not sure personally on this, it is a masterpiece as is. Is the genius behind the game having any input into this upgrade?

#5 9 years ago

Not sure on funhouse. But I do know J Pop is working with them on his games.

Not a fan of seeing the Shit Mask logo on Funhouse. Skit-B, redesign your logo pleeeassseee!

Hmmmm. The cynic in mean thinks it's easier to digitize some video of the toy than have an artist create dmd content. It's possible the budget for this is so tight and the market so small, it might be a low cost way of going dmd, but then you have to ask what is the point?

#8 9 years ago

Not a fan at all!

I like the idea of suttle enhancement to classic pins. Namely when it comes to a better balanced ruleset.

But a DMD for the near perfectly designed Funhouse is more of a deenhancement as I see it.

#9 9 years ago

I will wait and see to make up my mind. I can't really go off a 30 second clip.

#10 9 years ago

I own this pin and dont mind a dmd, but with rudys face on the dmd isnt he creepy enough? looking foward to this project. I was hoping callouts could be customized. and a better ruleset would be nice.

Depends where they go with it. BOP 2.0 is friggin' brilliant! I just wish it would ship already lol

Skit-B seems to be turning into Jpop Jr. ...multiple projects on the table but hasn't managed to get one out the door yet. Unfortunately, unlike Jpop, Skit-B's strong point isn't artistic presentation...when I see stuff like the bad logo & horrible Experts of Dangerous artwork....it's hard to get excited about this one or have faith in it.

#12 9 years ago

Who is skit b anyways???....hope the final product is better than this!

#13 9 years ago
Quoted from mollyspub:

Just some kids in the basement.

#14 9 years ago

How is it that Skit-B has time to manufacture 250 Predator games (which they haven't shipped even one yet, right?), time to design/build their 2nd announced title ("Expert of Dangerous"), and time now for this Funhouse project?

Are there people out there who still have money down on Predator? I think even yet another new project announcement like this would bother me.

The promo is odd, as if they are digitizing an item for the DMD that is already on the playfield, which comes across as redundant. I'm sure there's more to it, so let's see the real thing.

#16 9 years ago

bummer. Agreed- this is currently underwhelming.

Please Skit-B has shown working games.

Predator whitewood and the final production version of this game.
Sonic Pinball at Expo 2013.
Duck Hunt a one off.

#18 9 years ago

I wish SkitB success, but I also think these new companies should at least get game #1 out the door before jumping into so many new endeavors.

#19 9 years ago

Looking forward to Funhouse upgrade - go for it guys. I'm sure that DMD is not a true animation from the final thing, just an intro to having a DMD on the game. The animations were made originally for a DMD on the game - I have spoken to the person who has them. And don't forget the TZ clock was supposed to be on there as well - so Pat had a number of unfulfilled ideas for FH that can now be implemented.

Good luck!

I'll give you that…but he reminds me of Jpop in the way that his production pipeline seems very scatterbrained and can change on a whim…there aren't any solid dates and people who've paid for the game don't seem to know what's going on. The strangest thing to me is that the website doesn't even have a mention of Predator…seems odd for their flagship product to not be featured at all…makes me wonder about it even being licensed.

#21 9 years ago

i hope it turns out great.

Main reason I went with DP on TBL. We should see their progress in Oct at the Expo. So far it looks like TBL is moving right along. The 3 yr waits are insane. However, I am looking foward to my buddy getting his RAZA and Hobbit though Maybe in 2015??

#23 9 years ago

Have a listen to pinheadz.com.au ep 8 around the 40 mins mark. Skit-b talks about Funhouse redevelopment with new voice for Rudy, DMD etc. Very interesting

Wonder if this is over with.

#26 9 years ago

That had some cool ideas, but as we discovered, it takes way more then great ideas to run a successful business.

#27 9 years ago

Kevin should have 86'd Predator 2 years ago and focused on working for other people like this job. Now there is no way it can happen.

It's over with. Will anyone buy any product this guy is associated with ever again? I won't, that's for sure.

He's a pathological liar. He got caught lying, and then has kept lying about it even afterwards. Remember how a new article with "the truth" was going to come out? Hell, I'd settle for the refunds he promised appearing.

I'm beyond the "but he's a nice guy" stage, I'll never send a dime to any product that he's involved with. Rick would be insane to let him anywhere near any brand he's managing.

Agreed. But yet, the video, with Planetary Pinball, Fast Pinball, and Skit-B logos, hasn't been pulled. So I guess Kevin must have the license

Kevin does not have a license. Kevin whipped up this video while things were all fun and friendly and everything was on the up and up.

We (FAST/PPS) had been exploring game ideas for a Funhouse 2.0 and Kevin was eager to be involved. Obviously, in light of the recent revelations to the way that Kevin/Skit-B have been conducting business, the opportunity to participate in development of Funhouse 2.0 is no longer available to them. I will send Kevin a note to pull down the video.

Thank you for the heads up to this still floating around out there.

rethemed, "Big House 1.0"

#33 9 years ago

So is this just an add on to an existing FH or a whole new game?

So it sounds like Kevin just jumped in on something already envisioned. Are you still Exploring making this with other people?

Here's PPS's description of the overall plan:
https://pinside.com/pinball/forum/topic/wpc-20tm-extensions-to-wpc-20-games-from-tpf-pps-seminar

Sounds like FAST may still be involved in future "WPC 2.0" projects, but not Kevin.

I think the new business strategy is to offer as many pre-order products as possible, while never having the intention of finishing them. lol

#37 9 years ago

yes. at least there's a few examples of how to destroy your good name. VonnieD and Kevin just escorted themselves out of the hobby.
be more like Gerry from Multimorphic and Spooky and much less like the former.

You're welcome. It seemed odd that the video was still around.

Though unclear how anything was ever on the "up and up" if there was no formal agreement between Fast, PPS, and Kevin. I also notice the Williams logo shown on the machine.

As we were just getting things started with the hardware, it sounded like a lot of fun to work with someone like Kevin who was eager and excited about bringing new life to a classic game.

In the days/months since then we have made a lot of new friends and we are evaluating how we want to move forward. Since seeing this post this morning, it prompted me to talk with the others involved in animation and programming and decide how we want to adjust.

Give me a little time to get that in order and we should start up a new thread focused on suggestions/feedback/etc. Get a FUN conversation going around this project.

By "up and up" I just meant that things weren't under the dark cloud with Kevin that they are right now. The video was something Kevin whipped up the night before we had a talk at our 2014 NW Pinball Show with Matt from PPS.

Cool idea though. Hope someone does follow up with it.

Me too. Part of the reason why I bought my funhouse

#46 9 years ago

LOL Saw the title and thought it was an April Fool's joke for sure.

#47 9 years ago

There were a lot of "nice calls"

Met with a lot of resounding "stfu" 's
