Just wanted to let everyone know about a pinball podcast Skill Shot (Seattle's Pinball Zine) recently launched. It is long time staff member Graham and myself as the main hosts as well as Gordon and Brad, SKill Shot's creators, from time to time. We will have rotating guest commentators, reoccurring "Name that Game" audio trivia challenges, and focus on covering the local pinball landscape as well as new releases, pin tutorials and any breaking news or developments in the world of the silver ball as they happen. That being said, due to constraints of our schedules, some of the breaking news items may be old news by the time the episodes get released. Our intention is to put out two episodes a month, hopefully more. Skill Shot Pincast is available on iTunes so please subscribe! You can find us on soundcloud, Facebook, and the Skill Shot website as well - www.skill-shot.com Feel free to get a hold of us at [email protected]

Here are links to the first two episodes:

Our 7th episode is out today, with musical guests Ed Robertson and Darren Hanlon. Both avid pinball fans, as I'm sure you all know already. We had a ton of fun with Ed, from the interview, to the show with Colin Hay and Violent Femmes. He was an awesome guest on the show and we were so happy to have him.

    Thanks for checking it out!
I don't know, I'm going to be in Europe for the next month. We aren't recording any new episodes for a bit, but we have enough in the bag to keep our bi-weekly release schedule. What would you want to talk about???

Episode 11 is live! It's about my experiences playing in my first international pinball tournament, at the Heighway pinball factory in Wales. I give you an audio tour of the factory, talk to Jasmijn DeJong and Cayle George, and give a run down of the Joe Balcer talk at the UK show. Hope you enjoy it!

I also got a sneak peak at Alien, which I talk about in this episode as well.

Great episode once again. Kinda makes me want to start a homebrew pin after hearing Heighway (sp?)

Episode 12: Knights in Satan's Service
Our stories about KISS, and a game tutorial from Brian Chesbrough. Plus Alyson Rae gives us the details of the historical preservation of the Wayne Apartments next to Shorty's, Belltown activism, and why she dove head first into politics to save a linchpin in the Seattle pinball scene.

Episode 14 with Todd MacCulloch is out. Learn about how the pros deal with high pressure situations, from the NBA court to pinball tournaments. This episode is a great insight for how to keep that PMA in high stress competitions.

For those of you interested in the free shooter rod, it has been claimed!

    Hey friends!
Check out our newest episode to find out why you should swipe right on John John's Game Room owner, Jeff Rogers, and what a Tinder pinball machine would look like. We also talk juggalos, running a barcade, and the Seattle community at large. We had a real great time with this one, and you should too. Thanks for listening!

    Hey guys,
With rule sheet credit going to Tilt Forums, our latest episode has an in depth look at how to play Stern's newest release, Game of Thrones. We recorded with our friend Heather who is a huge fan of the books and show, so we tried to keep the spoilers sequestered to a certain time frame. There's also three new games that Graham came up with to play on this episode specifically.

For our latest episode, Graham and I did another cross cast. This time with our friend Jesse Mercury from the year 3000. Jesse does two incredible SciFi podcasts (SciFi with Jesse Mercury, and SciFi on Trial), and is also really into pinball. So the merging of our two worlds was a given.

We ended up talking for over 2 hours, so to spare your attention span, we split the shows up. The first half is on Jesse's podcast and can be found here:
    http://jessemercury.com/28-the-skill-shot-pincast-crossover

And the second half will be coming out on our channel this Wednesday. There's a fair amount of both pinball and SciFi talk on both hours. On Jesse's we talk mostly Star Wars, and on ours, we talk a lot of Star Trek and Terminator.
    Hope you like them!

Two episodes to share with you all.

    Seattle Super League!
    https://soundcloud.com/skillshotseattle/20-a-super-league-that-fits-your-schedule

Tales from a top level player who's initials are seen more than the man himself. Lonnie Langford talks about his long history with pinball, how he plays for 3-4 hours straigh (and I mean ONE GAME), why he doesn't play tournaments anymore, and how we're going to get him out of hiding. Sasquatch is a local legend in this part of the world, and Lonnie is just that for pinball.

We've had two more episodes since last posting.
One about virtual pinball, and one with returning guest Dave Stewart.
In this latest episode, we learn about Dave's long running history with pinball, how he got so deep into running tournaments, when he finds time to sleep, and he drops an announcement bomb on the show about some super sweet prizes for the tournaments in the upcoming NWPAS show this summer!

Skill Shot is awesome, keep it up!

    Thanks a bunch for listening!!

I'm interested to hear more details about how you guys run your weekly tournaments out in the northwest- what formats do you use, how long do they run, what has worked and what hasn't, etc. You've mentioned the weeklies loads of times but I still have no idea how they actually work. Thanks again for putting this out, I really enjoy it!

It's that time again: a new Skill Shot Pincast is upon us. In this episode, we sit down with our friend Andy Burton and talk about the Hobbitses, getting in the zone, and how to maximise your quarter on location.

Anywho, give a listen to this.

Episode 26 of our bi-weekly podcast is out now. That means Graham and I have completed one full year of podcasting! My how time flies. This episode is with Jordan Semrow where we talk about his pinball origin story, go on a tangent about The Wire, and tackle Stern's new Ghostbusters game. Stay tuned in two weeks for our 1 Year Anniversary show with Zoë Vrabel. Should be a doozy of a time.

As always, thanks for listening everyone!
