I took a break from working on pinball games and did my first Skill Roll rebuild (one down, two to go). This one was fairly easy, since it was mostly complete, and just needed a thorough cleaning and detailing. And there's not that much to them anyway. A new repro inner plexi (thanks, Dan!) and repro backglass from bgresto, and it's ready to "roll".

Everything was torn down, disassembled, cleaned, reassembled and tweaked as needed. I opted to leave the original finish on the wood trim, but only rejuvenate it. Original cab paint too (with some minor touch up on chips here and there, so they don't jump out as much).

Props to AlexF for picking this one up for me earlier this year too!

Quoted from jeffc:

Looks great DF ! Don't forget this repro instruction card (and some other newly-uploaded docs) at ipdb:

yes, thanks for the reminder. I'm out of card stock at the moment, but have it on the ToDo list to get to (I set aside the tacks already).

All lit up like a... Christmas tree.

Merry Christmas!

Skill Roll #2 rebuild finished. This took longer, and had to cannibalize the parts game I have more than I had hoped. Lots of tedious detail to sort out and make right. But, this one now lives again and plays very nicely.

Looks great Dirt! Now if I could just find a little bit more space..................
Ken

Skill Rolls are very space-friendly. They're great for filling in that oddball niche where a pinball can't go, and don't stick out from the wall too much.

FWIW, the backglasses on these were done by Steve at bgresto, and the inner plexis are repros done by another Pinsider (which fit precisely!).

Skill Roll #5 in the house... (thanks to another Pinsider - you know who you are!)

Bit of work to do on it, but not much. Mostly some detailing and adding back a couple missing things.
