Bally, 1980Howdy folks,
Having some difficulty finding the problem. All the playfield solenoids stopped working except the flippers. Checked the playfield fuse (good) all rectifier board fuses (good), tested fuse on voltage regulator board (good), checked and re-seated all connectors on MPU, VRB, and rectifier board. Anybody out there run across this problem before on this era machine?
Update - Not all the solenoids, just ALL jet bumpers, target reset banks, and outhole went dead all at the same time...slingshots and flippers work.
I've had issues with factory Bally fuse holders for the 1amp slo blo under the playfield. Mine was cracked but "looked" OK. Jumper across it if in question. Replace if needed.
If the slingshots are working, the problem is NOT with the 1 amp fuse under the playfield. The 43 volts that powers the solenoids is daisy chained from one solenoid to another. You likely have a break in the chain. If you have a digital multi-meter (DMM), start at the 1 amp under the playfield use and see if you have 43 volts DC (you should). Then, follow yellow wire as it moves from the slingshots to the other solenoids under the playfield. I suspect you will find a yellow wire broken off from one of the solenoid tabs.
