I put and alltek ultimate MPU in my skateball and everything works fine minus the top left display always displays numbers. When you play a two player game the display has all 9's, but the segments move around when you score. Its almost like the 9's are overlayed on top of your score. Kinda weird and I have no idea why its doing this. Is it the MPU or something else?

Make sure dip switch settings are correct. Also verify the connectors are good. Can you run the self tests successfully?

Nice machine. I'm restoring one now.

I would think that if everything worked before you put in the new board that it is a misplaced connector and or bad connection. Usually impossible to put in connectors wrong but may a pin inside the connector for the player 2 display broke or if a ribbon cable off by one pin. Just a guess. Recheck your work.

It was totally dead before I put the Altek board in. The sound is a little flakey too, so Im sure the connectors need some help, so I guess Ill start ordering that stuff.

I will look tonight and see how many pins I have left from when I did my Paragon. I also should still have my order confirmation from GPE that I can send you to make ordering stuff easier.

Very nice of you. Gov

Well at least it boots and you should be able to get into test modes.

If you switch positions with one of the other displays does the problem follow?

I switched the displays and the problem followed the display. I guess Ill just order up a new one.

A similar thing happened with my Skateball recently, and reseating the connections cleared it right up - just FYI.
