You actually do not need the screw as the leg bolts will hold it, so a simple small upholstery nail or a 1/2 #6 screw show work fine. They are mainly so when you take the leg bolts off the bracket does not fall in.

Right, I understand the bolt holds them in, I just don't want it falling off when I take the bolts off

1/2" #6...thanks. Just trying to make sure it isn't something that's going to pike through the outside of the cab or be too thick or thin for the bracket hole.

Good rule is to take the screw and lay it on the edge of the plywood first to check length thickness before piking it.

Top of from of lower cab under lockdown bar is a good clean spot to check end-grain plywood.
