I’m working on a Gottlieb Sittin Pretty from 58. The 10,000 point relay is burnt to a crisp, so I need a new one. The schematic says it’s a R20-4 coil. However, when I look it up on any of the sites, the is a small coil, like a lock relay this is a standard sized coil, like on any other stepper unit, except it screws into the assembly.

So, what do a the right coil?

The 10k relay (N) coil probably is an R20-4, but what you have in the photo is the 10k unit drive coil. It's usually something like an A-1496, but check your schematic again and look below the alphabetical list and you should find the details for the 10k stepper coil (as you show in your photo).

Good luck!

That's a fun machine--enjoy!

You were absolutely correct! Thank you again! At least that is what the manual calls for.. But it doesn't seem to have a screw on the end like the original.

The original solenoid coil didn't come with a screw in the end. If it seems to, that's likely because the plastic coil sleeve melted the coil stop in place.

The coil mounting bracket has a coil stop and nut in it. The coil should slip right off of it. If not, the coil probably melted the sleeve to it.

The burnt coil has it's number embossed into the fiber next to the coil terminals. Look closely on it and you'll find it.

You guys are correct! Thank you, I pulled another coil apart and see what you are talking about.

Thank you!
