These look really good. How are the coffee tables shipped? Anything special like freight, or is it normal shipping. How long does delivery usually take once ordered? Thanks.
I've got the mini from the kickstarter. You can just watch this thing forever. I'm glad they finally put a pause in the app so you can let it just sit for a period of time after the design is finished.

I can't comment on the larger, wooden tables, but my 36" metal table was packaged very well and arrived via UPS. there is plenty of warning stickers about requiring 2 people to set up the table, but I had no issues doing it myself. the glass top is very thick and extremely well packaged and finished very nicely with a smooth rounded edge (since it's exposed at the edges)
the power supply is like one of these:
ebay.com link: AC Power Supply Adapter to DC 5V 10A 50w LED CCTV Cameras Etc US Ship
with the small barrel connector end running up one of the legs and terminating at the sisyphus board located under the table. they have you zip tie the power cable to one of the legs
the setup time from start to finish, including unboxing took less than 40 mins (with most of the time spent discarding all of the packaging materials)
I just found out about these. Way Cool !! I'd love to have one. But I don't have any extra floor space. And fixing a blown engine in my car just cost me $4,000.00 so I don't have any money, either.
Way cool ! I know it would be physically impossible but one hanging from the wall would be a knockout.

Nothing stopping you from putting one in a back room with a camera mounted over it and feeding the live picture to a wall-mounted monitor.

Sweet Idea! Could have it out in one area and displayed on a wall elsewhere...nice!

I was hoping you would do a steal your face design at some point. This thing looks great. I think I’ll save up for an end table or try to build one.

That is a cool idea. I am still out of floor space though. I live in a 2 bedroom house with 8 pins
Quoted from Mr68:M.C. Escher's artwork would be very cool if it could translate. One of my all time favorites.
That’s a good idea too.
Hosting a Big Lebowski Halloween Party. That would be a cool addition.
The definition of "sisyphus":
Interesting.
" Sisyphus (or Sisyphos) is a figure from Greek mythology who, as king of Corinth, became infamous for his general trickery and twice cheating death. He ultimately got his comeuppance when Zeus dealt him the eternal punishment of forever rolling a boulder up a hill in the depths of Hades. "
Quoted from OLDPINGUY:How long does it take to complete a complex pattern?
Some are an hour up to I think I've seen five hours. I tend to set it on a faster speed.
^ I don't always do an erase track. Depends on what I want to run next. If you look at the preview and the design has the "erase" circles on it, it will clear it well. I've run the erase numerous times only to see that the next track runs that pattern first anyway. One thing that is weird is that the erase track is fast, but a design track that has the clear first, is really slow to complete the "erase", then the pattern goes fast.
Quoted from shimmydisc:This one took about 25 minutes at medium speed - side table
Isn't part of the fun / relaxation watching it do it thing?
Every time I come across this thread I read it as "Syphilis Table", and wonder to myself what in the world can this topic be about.
Quoted from Atari_Daze:Isn't part of the fun / relaxation watching it do it thing?
It sure is! In order to post a video, do I have to put it on YouTube and link it here? Doesn’t seem like I can just upload it like a photo.

I think it has to be a link.
just a subtle reminder about using my referral link to say yourself some money if you're considering purchasing a table

That referral link just goes to the website and the prices are the same.

I believe that at checkout, the referral link is supposed to adjust everything. if you're interested in purchasing one and it doesn't adjust the price for you, let me know and I will forward them the info before you make your purchase.

Spend $8k-10k on a table and then zip tie the power cord to one of the legs? That’s gotta look great. Still no photos of the power cords or how to hide it? Maybe a side table that can be hidden a bit. But at that cost I’d want it front and center. Love the art and beauty of it. But the cord issue is what’s keeping me from buying (we were literally on line purchasing one. Then started asking questions.). We don’t want to hide a cord under a rug or have to zip tie it to a leg. Ugh. Maybe one day they’ll have one that can take a charge? Say power it up for a few hours and it runs for a few days. (Idk).

I was thinking the same

the zip tie is only used for the metal tables (as far as I know) which at most are less than $2K. I'm not sure what elegant solution they could provide given the design of a basic table, other than running the cord inside of the leg (which would require a few holes in one of the table legs to route the cable and some grommets to keep any sharp edges from cutting into the power cable
however, given that the table legs, the power cable and zip ties are all black and oriented so that its out of the way and out of sight, it's really not that noticeable.
I've also hidden the power supply behind the vertical blinds so that's not an issue either [for me]

and here's the power supply with a us quarter for scale

Well this is certainly something I didn't know I wanted. Now I just need to figure out a way to sell this as a gift for my wife

Couldn't you just buy a battery backup and hide it under the table? They will be rated in AmpHours, find out the tables power consumption, do the math and buy a battery to last as long as you want.
Edit: something like one of these.
Quoted from Nikrox2:Yes, maybe as an end table like shown, but out in the center of your room? Not at that price.
if you had a lamp, pinball machine, television, etc... in the middle of a room, what would you do? by your logic it's kind of a poor design that anything that runs electricity requires a cord
I get it that it's not optimal, but maybe that's why I've seen floor plans with [hidden] covered outlets located in the middle of the room
I, myself do not place pinball machines (or lamps, TV's, etc) in the middle of my living room. I have a simple coffee table.
"If" you have an outlet in the middle of your room (hidden) and yes, I've seen those and it's not that much to have one installed, I get that...and NO, my "logic" is not as you state. (Pinball machines run on electricity and out of all of this, you're getting that I think that's a poor design?)
My "logic" is that after paying what $8-10k on a beautiful table (not disrespecting the art or mechanics of this thing, it is truly amazing) you then need to zip tie a power cord to a table leg, and either run the cord under a rug (or install a hidden outlet) -and no where did the website show this - in ANY PHOTO!...after preparing to order one, we looked into this and just thought it was something others should also understand before plopping their money down.
I'll just buy another pin and put it against the wall (where my outlets are) - 3-5 years from now, I think I'll be happier (especially seeing they are already selling replacement parts for the "worn out" areas that are apt to fail.)
I'll quit posting here on this subject as it seems I'm upsetting those getting discounts on the backs of others...continue the advertising blitz. (I'll go back to pinball) Peace out

Don't like it, don't buy. Posting the same complaint repeatedly in this thread isn't going to change anything.
I just now ordered the LE-V1 (pictured) and it comes with two independent roving balls to jointly carve the pattern. That's going to be a crowd pleaser.
And I already have a few locations in my home to choose from where the power cord will be completely hidden. My martini bar against the wall is most likely. It doesn't have to be a coffee table in the middle of the room....
And thanks to the referral link that J_M_ posted, I was able to save $110.00. The discount is applied at check out.

That same logic applies to pinball machines and probably even more so.
