Noice
Is it wrong to say That is the type of avatar picture I don't Mind seeing on its side.....
Before you send the money, make sure the seller takes a picture of your name scribbled on a piece of paper and placed on the pin, so you know its yours and its real!

That is easily photoshopped. I've seen it done in scams. It's not foolproof.

Oh yes, I know that, I almost fell for it with a Taxi from a guy in supposedly in Chicago. He scribbled my name and put it next to the pin like thats some sort of reliable measure. But he never wanted me to come over to pick it up. Hmm.
ForceFlow This is what I was talking about yesterday. I don't care about the details of Spammers vs. Scammers. I think 99.9% of us would like NEITHER on Pinside!
Ideas:
1) Minimum 10 (meaningful, heavily involved in the content) posts before allowed to start a thread.
2) Minimum 25 posts before allowed to post a FS thread. These FS threads require the Pinside fees upfront until...
3) 50 posts allows the user to post FS threads with the fees due after the sale is made.
I don't think anything above is controversial, damaging to this site, or would dissuade honest people from continuing to start their Pinside membership.

Scammers just post pad. They've been doing it already to try to look legitimate. Requiring a post count isn't going to do much.
I would vote for an option to flag a user or post as "suspicious". There was no specific category for "Scam" available even when flagging this post.

Is it 100% perfect? Nope. But if it helps a weed out any percentage, while helping clean up the site, how can one argue it isn't worth it?

It's a hurdle for legitimate members. Not everyone participates extensively on the forums.
