I'm looking for the brightest green bulbs I can find for the nuclear towers on TSPP. I bought a couple of the 9SMD Tower flashers from Comet. They're really night, but Ive seen videos of towers with more green to them. Any suggestions for a #906 bulb that would illuminate the entire tower? I was looking at these Quasars, not sure if anyone has messed with those yet. Thanks

Quoted from OLDPINGUY:

Yes, the Towers are 6.3V.....The only bulb that lights the entire cooling tower are Op-Max, from Comet.
(I made them for GI, and internal plastic lighting)
I also removed the black rubber grommet on top and replaced with clear to complete.

(Werent the 12V flashers Dim in there?)

Everything Ive tried has been dim! So you think the Op-Max are the best bet for the towers? Sidenote, I took your suggestion and bought a bunch of green Op-Max's for my NGG GI lighting. Especially in the back under the green plastics. It looks amazing. Looks like Im about to place my 4th Comet order in 2 weeks! Cheeers!

Also, any suggestions for a nice #906 flasher to put inside Homer's head?

Quoted from OLDPINGUY:

Thats also a 6.3V Bulb, I think a #555 Wedge.....Same thing, an Op-max fills the whole head evenly.

It appears to be a 906 flasher, thats why I was confused.

Great, thanks for the help. I picked up some 12v Opmaxes as well as some 9smd 906 flashers, and some 6.3V Opmaxes. Ill make something work!

Quoted from ryanwanger:

Sorry, late to the party here. Just wanted to make sure you understood...any 12v bulb that you put in the pops is going to look dim because it's only 6.3v going to those sockets. So, use a 6.3v bulb.
Thanks for the order! I recently did mine and used 1SMD RGB slow fade color changers in the cooling towers. They don't fill up the entire tower, but it's a pretty cool effect. You can see what it looks like here: » YouTube video
But those opmax bulbs look great...

Thanks Ryan. The 12v bulbs were for Homers head. I scooped some 6.3v OpMaxes for the towers. Thanks for the point in the right direction!

Wow that looks way brighter than the 9smd towers I have in there now. I cant wait to get these Opmax bulbs and see what that looks like.

Quoted from ryanwanger:

The 9smd towers are dim because they are the wrong voltage. They're 12v bulbs and the socket in the pops is 6.3v

Ah that makes sense. I also bought the wrong base OpMax so now I guess I have some extras for Gofers! Time to make another Comet order!
