I have a Silverball Mania. I can not get it to do anything but power on. It only lights up. All fuses are good. Everything else looks fine to eye. One resistor replaced and one diode.

Who can I call or who could help me get started.

If I need an MPU or other board I need to order it today.

I thought about ordering it and a test board but need a little advice.

Check for local collectors in your area on Mr. Pinball

Besides people here who might contact you, you can find some local help.

This could be simple or more than needing a board. You'll have to trouble shoot it and not just stick in a new board. If there are problems you could destroy a new board.

On your " all fuses are good ", did you remove them from the game and check with a meter ?

Check that you have the right voltage going to the MPU. I had the same problem with my KISS machine, and the capacitor on the solenoid driver board dries up over time. I changed the board with a new Allteck board. It fired up right away. Also check the MPU battery damage.

It continues to blow a 1/4 amp fuse. I just found in the book that it says I have to replavce a bridge rectifier. thanks. I replaced it and just checked it again and it blew again.

I am looking for local help in Tennessee. Any ideas? 618-541-9399

Markstrr Sorry for my ignorance. But does it need batteries to run? I was told it did not untill you wanted the memory to be working.

Battery is for memory only

When you power up the game, how many flashes on the CPU board LED?

#8 11 years ago

No LED flashes. I found out that the bridge rectifier is bad. THe 1/4 amp fuse keeps blowing. I have ordered 3 Rectifiers. Any suggestions about that. Could there be something causing this issue as well. Am I just chasing the RABBIT.

You just have to go step by step.

Get your voltages right at PS, then measure at CPU board and see if any voltage loss from old connectors, count LED flashes to see if any problem with board, then check solenoid driver board.

also check all your connector pins i have a SBM and I had to change out like 25 before it fired up

Saw your post on the Nashville Facebook group, but I'm not on Facebook so I couldn't reply.

Try Steve Kulpa. He's in Nashville and is a Bally expert. Google his name and you'll get his repair pages, quotes for work, etc. He helped me out recently with a Nitro Ground Shaker. I believe he is on the Nashville Facebook group as well.

GIve this a read. Check the test point voltages on the Power Supply first, Driver board then MPU. Look at the correct values and this will tell you what isn't working and where to start your repairs.
