Anyone know the actual Zolatone base coat color for a Bally Silver Sails? Yellow with black speckle?
I made some new Mirror finish SS side rails and the metal under the glass. If the mirror finish under the glass doesn’t look good I with go with the original paint lock panels but I had some extra metal so I figured what the hell. I got
The mirror finish Stainless for $31 off of the cut rack at the metal salvage in town. I’m keeping the one ball base because it’s bondoed on part of it and it’s solid as a rock....probably why the cabinet is in good condition. Let me know what you think?

It was left outside and the paint was flaking off. It looked better in pictures than it was. The only paint that was good was under the rails.The base was permanently attached....I mean Bondoed with auto body bondo. I would of had to replace the whole bottom and possibly one side. It wasn’t worth it. It’s Almost done. It’s restored to when it was in use in Reno Nevada. And....I will probably never attempt to repaint an entire cabinet again. It took forever!

I will post more pictures after I finish... I also just bought that Sea Island that is still listed on eBay in Glendale Az. It had all kinds of the normal issues and wasn’t working at all. It’s about 90% working after a couple of days. I posted a few pictures on the show us your games topic. It needs a back glass. Just can’t see paying more than I paid for the game for a NOS or reproduction. Has anyone used the download scans from pinball repair and had it printed at a shop with UV protected ink as his information suggests?

No the payout doesn’t work. I do have a hopper from one of my slots but lack the knowledge and experience to hook it up. It also has a “doorbell” button in it and an extra counter (3) and a few more coils by the door. Some sort of reset or to add credits?, who knows? Phil Anderson was the controller who made the adjustments acording to Phil from CDYN. He made the adjustments because people would rest the machine with one coin then play the green button until they lit the blue section. If you were good at hitting the 13, 16, 17, 20, 21 you would win either 300 or 600 credits. Turns out he was right! ( both Phil’s) I found Phil Anderson’s card in my machine, and ...if you can hit those numbers you could clean up by only playing for the blue super section. Does your machine still have all of the parts? Mine has all of the parts except the blue super section coil. Its nice to communicate with people who can appreciate these machines. I would like to thank everyone who has contributed to the enormous databank that is available on bingo.cydn.com and the forums here. I had never seen the inside of one of these until December 10th. I now have two that did not work when purchased,that work now. I still have a few issues. After reassembling the Silver Sails it will not start the ok or gate game...search disk stops on positions 29 and 33 or whatever the gate game is but the new game won’t start? I’ve looked at everything I can think of except the shutter switches? The Sea Island had all kinds of issues. The magic screen motor was locked up and just hummed. The shaft on the motor was half a turn out of sequence with the screen position. Right button didn’t work after I got the screen back together.Ball lifter didn’t work. Steppers were all gummed up. Scoring didn’t work....and some other stuff I probably forgot. The most frustrating part of this is.....I’m not even sure how I fixed most of this stuff! It doesn’t work. Look it up in the manual. I clean it, it still doesn’t work... I manually make it do what it is supposed to do if I can...reset, play again, and the damn thing stars working like it’s supposed to....or not. Repeat the process over and over. Sometimes the light bulb comes on and I say ah ha THAT is what it was...But 50% of the time, I don’t see the fix! Am I alone here or have any of you experienced this?

Checked it several times.... lol. the search disk sees it, and stops but no ball dump. I assume if I get it to do that...the ods and features will start to step up accordingly as normal. Is there a switch that is made when the R button is held down?How does it go from a normal search to the bonus game? The only other little problem I have with SS is my odds don’t flash randomly when playing the red or blue buttons. The features do flash randomly while playing red and green.
Another question or two if you don’t mind?
How do you lube a leather clutch with Neatsfoot oil? Do they have to be removed? If a clutch is slipping from to much oil (my Sea Island)...in this case I’m assuming the previous owner sprayed WD-40 on it , can it be repaired without tearing it apart? It works but slips just a little.
