What is the best double sided tape to use when installing pinball side mirrors? On the last set I installed, I used carpet tape. Over time it let loose and the mirror blades are bowing out a little bit in a few spots. What is the best tape to use to get a perfectly flush install?

Who's blades did you buy? Mine were installed with small screws. Any heavy duty tape I would think would be thicker and you wouldn't want that as it pushes the blades closer to the playfield and could lead to the Playfield scratching the blades or even limit raising the pf!!

I bought the JJP ones from pinballsidemirrors.com. I do have the screws. Looking to get the mirrors flush without any gap at the top. Concerned that screws only won't make them as flush as factory installed mirrors like you see on AFMr LE and MBr LE. I agree thicker tape is not ideal. Looking for thin tape. I do own a set of the side mirror protectors from PBL to help avoid scratches when raising and lowering the playfield.

Any good tape is going to have a thickness to it. It needs the padding to get the maximum adhesion.

I'd suggest some sort of glue or adhesive. I don't know what would be semi-permanent though.

Use this stuff. Super thin and strong. Used this on Chrome Candy mirror blades as screws would catch on playfield when lifting.

Ordered the tape. Looks great and useful for many things - including pinball.
    Thanks for the link!

Is that tape kind of thick?

I bought some thin stuff and it has been holding fine for over a year. I suggest wiping down the are on the cabinet and the blade with 90+% alcohol to make sure it sticks. Put the tape on the cabinet first and use tweezers to peel off the other side once you get the blades into the right position.

Pinball Side Mirrors does not recommend using any kind of tape. Here is the installation instructions from their website:

    Interesting..

When I did my first mirror blade I screwed them in first and then put the tape in (wrong way to go). But, the mirror's didn't sit flush at the top before I added the tape. I'd think you would want tape to make sure they don't "hang out" from the side. But, whatever works!
