I recently built my own shuffleboard table from scratch out of pine, oak, and old bowling lane. I used 2x12x16 runners, 4x4's for legs and oak cross members to hold the playing surface. The playing surface was made from old bowling lane flooring. Everything turn out pretty great.
Soon after I purchased a shuffleboard bowling set, only to realize that they were really small and not proportional to the table at all. So I created TableBowl and made a bowling set for shuffleboard tables that is proportional to the size of the table. The results is a fun game for anyone to play. Check out my build and tablebowl.com if you'd like more info for the bowling set.
