Ideal is still in business here in St. Louis. I have bought many games from them over the years.

Interesting. I have a stack of the same card but with a different address. This address appears to be just around the corner from the address on your card according to Google Maps. I got the cards about 20 years ago when purchasing a beautiful Bally Prospector from the daughter of the operator who was deceased. This was the only game she had.

Quoted from EasternBloc:Recently found out that I had a relative in the coin-op business long before my time. This calendar is all that’s left to my knowledge.

Quoted from Vintage-Pinball:Just noticed this label on the back door of my World Fair. I guess it was in an air-conditioned site at some point in its life...[quoted image]
Maybe that back door was originally on a North Star or Ice Review.
Well, color me surprised. Surprised that St. Louis was issuing slot machine licenses as late as 1954. This tag is on a 1948 Bally Gold Cup 1-ball horse race game that turned up on eBay today. Anyone know the St. Louis gambling laws in the 1950s?
The St. Louis Slot Machine license refers to ANY machine that has a coin slot. Pinball, cigarettes, soda machines etc. Actual payout slot machines have long been illegal in St. Louis.
