    Quoted from Bortino:

    A Flip-A-Card that led a hard life

Flip-a-Card is a great game. When a local 2nd generation operator sold his business it was the one machine he kept for his home game room.
That brown stuff looks like some kind of glue residue left from a fabric or paper or vinyl covering someone used to "dress up" the cab. Maybe you'll get lucky and it will come off with krud kutter or similar product.

I don't think I've seen this one before on this thread. It is on a '71 Bally I picked up. I had never even heard of Mt Ranier, MD and had to look it up. Maybe Dono or someone from DC area might recognize it?

In case anyone is wondering why the stickers have the vendor’s name and says they own the machine, it isn’t just for marketing.

If the good constable should come by to seize the location’s property to sell, the sticker says the machine isn’t owned by the location. Don’t take this one— the barkeep doesn’t own it!

Not from an operator, but a red Bally sticker on my Eight Ball apron. They made more than 20,000 of these machines, but I have only seen a couple of these stickers. Maybe they are common?

Got a new EM recently and it had this sticker on it. Boy I wish I knew this pins history what a story it would tell. It did have a state license sticker for 1975-1975 so I was on location at some point.

"Modified by" ? What kinds of modifications did they do to games?

    Quoted from MisterScappy:

No clue - that's actually why I googled them in the first place. The game is stock and serials matching, not a re-import. I see no "conversions" or anything and "Model HT" doesn't mean anything related to this machine, so I'm thinking it was a sticker originally meant for something else that they just used here for identification.

I suspect they may have made an application to perform modifications for the strict skill crane laws in California. 1980s cranes needed state-specific mods related to claw strength or adjustability. I don't know what the CA rules were off the top of my head.

Well, color me surprised. Surprised that St. Louis was issuing slot machine licenses as late as 1954. This tag is on a 1948 Bally Gold Cup 1-ball horse race game that turned up on eBay today. Anyone know the St. Louis gambling laws in the 1950s?

The St. Louis Slot Machine license refers to ANY machine that has a coin slot. Pinball, cigarettes, soda machines etc. Actual payout slot machines have long been illegal in St. Louis.

A simple tag - but a very meaningful one! This is from Melody Music, an op that was in Champaign, Illinois. They were bought out by J&J at some point in the last few years from what I understand.

It means a lot to me because I job shadowed with their lead tech 15-ish years ago, igniting a passion for arcade game and pinball machine work that grows stronger every day! This tag is inside a Simpsons Pinball party that I picked up about an hour away from Champaign yesterday.

    Quoted from MrBally:

All I know is that every single building in Illinois with an open outlet has slot machines now, and every single one I've seen has either J&J markings on the machine, or even on the "PLAY SLOTS HERE!" signs outside. Definitely a name you can't escape in IL.

On my Skateball that I picked up in Nebraska (lives in WI now). I've thought about scraping it off to clean it up, but it's pretty cool to know that it was in Nebraska for some/most of its life, at least until I got it a few years ago. I wonder who made who put that "VOID" sticker on beneath it.

That "void" sticker is probably like the one above it. When you peel it away, it destroys/voids it.
