Alpha omega... Frank the crank!!
Quoted from BlackCatBone:Operator's tag on the top apron of a 1948 Bally Rancho. It raises the question, was this pre-flipper game still being routed in the video game era? Probably not, but there's something about the idea that appeals to me.

Here's a cautionary Salt Lake City license tag that advises gambling simply won't be tolerated. Yeah, right. The tag apparently was at one time attached to the 1950 Bally Turf-King 1-ball horse race game shown in the photo.

The hometown of Titan Trailers. Makers of solid waste refuse as well as grain trailers.
Here's an interesting twist in an Associated Amusement Distributors "Approved Game" tag on the top apron of a 1939 Exhibit Flash. My take on it is that a group of operators and/or distributors formed a trade association to "officially" stamp games that were harmless amusement games, in an effort to distance themselves from the gambling games that were so prevalent in the 1930s. It was true for this game; Flash was not designed for gambling.

What's this game and any history? I have a few friends from Galax.

That was off a machine at Pinfest. It looks like maybe "Lost World". So, do they call themselves "Galaxians"?

Venco is still in business! We trade with them on atm stuff.
I should have worn my tux! When you can't even step up to a Bally bingo to surrender a fair chunk of your Friday paycheck, you know you're breathing rarefied air. I've never seen anything like this personally, but I do recall reading in Jeffrey Lawton's bingo book that his dad sometimes reserved bingo games for a certain high-rolling customer. This game is a 1962 Bally Silver Sails.

I think the management just did not want to have to pay off all those credits,
and hoping the player who won them
would come back to play off some 300+ games.
Check out R.F. Jones' vast territory in the mid-1950s. San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Salt Lake City, Denver. Even Spokane gets a mention. I found this original decal beneath a later operator sticker on this 1956 Bally Night Club bingo.

The 193? tax was paid to the city of Beaumont, Texas on this 1935 Jennings Sportsman, a payout gambling game. If I'm reading the image correctly, the decal has a white space to the right of the "193" where, presumably, the issuer would write in the correct year. It didn't seem to happen in this case, or maybe the hand-writing has just faded over 80+ years.

Gotta love 4 digit phone numbers. There were still 3 digit numbers in small towns when I was born....
Quoted from MrBally:[quoted image]
They’re a parts distributor. Still in business. Same number.

Yep, I bought tens of thousands of dollars worth of parts from them when I worked for a route operator in the '80's. Way cheaper than Wico for generic parts.
Operator's tag from the rear door of a 1973 Williams OXO. The game has traveled a bit since new, as it is being auctioned in St. Louis. I lived about 8 blocks north of T.V.C. in the late 1980s, but I don't remember seeing them on Milwaukee Ave. A quick google suggests that T.V.C. is no longer with us. I swear I've seen this tag before, maybe earlier in this thread.

A Flip-A-Card that led a hard life. One leg corner blown out. Metal on the sides of the cabinet covering gouges and everything painted baby s**t brown. The beer seal didn't. Back glass and playfield are decent. The last owner just wanted it gone. His daughter played it when she was growing up. This is my first EM. Trying to upgrade it to a player's game.

It's a game worthy of restoration.
If the playfield and backglass are both good, that's an excellent start. Good luck!
