Quoted from mcluvin:

Highly sought after on the aftermarket, but they don't make them anymore...

That’s cool! I never saw one before.

I’ve got a “hillbilly fire pit”. It’s an old cast iron wood stove with some single wall vent pipe and a spark arrestor cap so I don’t have to worry as much about lighting the neighborhood on fire when it’s dry out.

I added another 2’ piece of vent pipe this year and a “Wagon Wheel” tree ring table from a 100 year old sycamore tree that a tornado took out at a job site.

What is the extra seat for a passenger? I’ve never seen one before.

#1449 10 months ago
Quoted from electricsquirrel:

I put the seat on, so my daughter could ride along.
She was pretty pissed when I got the tractor stuck.

That’s cool. I see her looking agitated in the corner of the pic. Back to riding her quad I guess.
I was picturing a wife or girlfriend sitting on it. Hey baby let’s go mow the yard! Now you can enjoy the fun too! Good times!

I actually enjoy mowing. Outdoor exercise and you get to see lots of interesting things. I’ve had my eyes peeled lately looking for turtles.

Quoted from mbwalker:

That's what I read anyways. Could be because it might not settle on the ground (blows away, birds eat it).

I always heard that some old timers seeded before the last snow of the year.

Supposedly as the snow melted above, it worked/pushed the seed down into the frost heaved soil and was partially or totally covered when the ground finally thawed.

Quoted from cdnpinbacon:

Seeding in the snow makes sense, it’s the bloody crows that feast.

Crows in my area don’t bother the seed. It’s the starlings and grackles. If you don’t spread grub control product on the lawn the crows dig them out. It’s funny because the crows only stop by a couple of the homes in my neighborhood. They must not apply grub control.

Quoted from RyanStl:

My back yard looks like ass again. Now, I have three labs fucking it up and new one is GD hole digger. I'm giving up.

My old neighbor had a huge pumpkin head St Bernard named Reggie and a fenced in rear yard. I could see his back yard pretty good from my second floor deck. Reggie was a hole digger. He dug a hole that was about 4 ft diameter and about a foot deep. He liked to lay in it. Maybe the dirt felt cool?
If my neighbor filled it in Reggie would just dig it out again in a few days. Neighbors wife had an accent and when she spoke her R’s sounded like W’s. She would yell out the window when he started digging “Weggie Bad dog! Very Bad Dog!”
We thought it was Hilarious!
