My front lawn is a giant clover patch. The honeybees love it. I see no reason to kill it off. Just have to pick off the occasional carpenter bee.

I can definitely appreciate a well-kept lawn, some of these look amazing. OTOH I'm lazy and I like nature, so I've allowed different parts of my backyard to become overgrown (less to mow!) including a giant brush pile, and we have all kinds of bunnies, hares and birds running around. Last year a doe had a fawn in one overgrown area, it stuck around from March til July. Neighborhood fireworks on 4th finally scared it out. We saw it with momma a week later down the street and it looked fine.
