Quoted from cdnpinbacon:...My wife asks: does the Rubber tipple inhibit plant growth?...
What the heck is that?
Quoted from cdnpinbacon:According to the WLA handbook, That I helped write, rubber mulch is called Tipple.
Must be a Canadian term!
Had to chuckle at my son's wedding this past weekend . The ceremony was at a golf course and the wedding itself was on a patch of grass cut diagonally!
Quoted from cdnpinbacon:Have your ash been attacked by the Asian beetle? I captured a few already.
You talking about those beetles you put out the bags for? If so yeah we get them every year.

1st photo was taken of one of our lawns last night prior to them being scarified today.
2nd photo was taken just now post scarifying.
Will post again in 4-6 weeks with results of all the lawns once they have recovered!

I'll do the electric and landscaping myself. How exactly is it 45 fn k to dig and crane a pool?????
Quoted from cdnpinbacon:Have your ash been attacked by the Asian beetle? I captured a few already.
Gorgeous pool. Do you intend to landscape yourself?
Quoted from YZRider926:My backyard is and will be a mess for a bit.
But I'd like to see progressing pics of the project..
A good size gathering this weekend at the pond area, and too much to
get done the last 2 or 3 days, so I got the front, side, and backyards up
on top knocked off today..
Quoted from starfighter:still a work in progress but I'm getting there ...

Which one is progress? Less or more decoration?

Top one is when PeeWee owned it. Bottom is after the studio cleaned it up.
I used to own and maintain six acres, but I got tired of the upkeep so I converted it all back to wildflower fields except for the area close to the house. The first year the neighbors all thought I was nuts, but the second year it looked great and the pollinators returned to the area. That one decision convinced me to always have a small lawn with a large wildflower field.

Have a Pebble Tech pool installed in Vegas if you want a nutty price. At least you get a lot of use out of it.
I didn't win squat. So many amazing lawns...keep the pics coming and thanks for sharing folks ! Pinside Christmas lawn decoration championship ?

I'm close to the lake so it's a 1st world problem for me but still ..why not .arrange everything yourself including the crane rental? Should be able to chop the price way down. I'm trucking sales all my life. The crane drop and dig are your biggest cost? Correct me if I'm wrong ?
How much is the prefab fiberglass ones?
I'm not looking for Olympic Size.. just so my wife and I can jump in and goof off. Have no idea how much or availability.
Fiberglass is close to concrete pools in pricing. Probably a little cheaper but not much. Lots of fiberglass pool companies and manufacturers. Just need to find one you like. We are really liking ours.

Holy crap, I thought that looked familiar. I didn't realize until you mentioned PeeWee and I zoomed in.

Don't forget to show updates when everything's done! Congrats! Where is the pump ?
Perhaps little bar shed cloae to the pool with open cafe windows that expose a big screen TV?
My sons front an back yard not far from York Pa.

Yeah not much done since they installed it a few weeks ago. Got the electric done so the pool is clean and we’ve been swimming in it.

I'm guessing no dogs and kids. Looks great. I did the rock thing once and was always throwing them back from the grass to the rock bed. Damn kids and animals kept moving them around. Not to mention the GD dog pee spots.

Dead heading them regularly!
Got some prep for the patio done today. Right before the rain. Got some decisions to make. Might bring in more fill dirt and try to level the backside and deep-end side more.
