Weird, I got mine thru Amazon. Here's the link of my purchase from the seller: amazon.com link »
Is that the same seller as your purchase?

Weird ya, maybe banned in MN?! I tried other locations in Mn. Still nothing, maybe I’ll check around

So I did some googling, and was going to suggest looking at Meso 4SC Mesotrione Herbicide. Supposedly an alternate to tenacity.

So Mesotrione is for sale in MN?
pasted_image (resized).pngpasted_image (resized).png

I then went to the Syngenta's web site...looks like Tenacity is also approved in MN?

https://www.greencastonline.com/products/tenacity-herbicide/turf

Maybe it's a Pro vs. homeowner thing? So if you order Mesotrione from Amazon, I wonder if it would ship.

What a difference a couple weeks makes!

This works! Smells like coyote piss but works
Get granular the spray washes off first rain!

Amazon won’t ship to me. Wondering if that is because I am residential?

I got mine last week from Amazon. Now I'm just waiting for it to work. I read you need patience and like two weeks. I had left over mixed, but it supposedly is only good for 24 hrs, so I don't know what to do with the left over.

There's been times I have extra and I just use it for a 2nd application a couple of weeks later (right or wrong). Can't say I paid enough attention if it worked or not.

Extra should still be effective even weeks later

Thx for info...no deer problem but major rabbit one...2 huge rabbits stalk my back yard and eat everything. I love animals so no trapping
This looks like a good option.

How many applications are required?

Tenacity is a bit different, and they mention it needs to be used within 24 hr. But they don't go into the details, so I use it even after a couple of weeks regardless. Mostly due to my laziness...

Looks like I can get it from

So, must just be an amazon thing. Is the blue dye worth it? I know adding something for the tenacity to stick can be helpful.

Yeah, the blue dye really does help. But I have a big yard, so half the time I'm wandering around like a homeless guy looking for weeds and it's easy to hit something twice w/o it. I tend to mix the dye a little strong so I can really spot it (still doesn't take much).

A couple of tips to use the dye: Get the really cheapie disposable plastic gloves. Like the paper thin ones at Wallymart or Home Depot. You'll still get it on your hands, just not as bad. I also get a little $1 squeeze bottle at Wallymart in the travel section (pharmacy area). Then pour some of the dye from the larger dye container into the little squeeze bottle since it's a little less messy to work with.

Wetting agent: A few drops of Dawn dish soap works good since it has a wetting agent. But I did buy some real surfactant to try this year just for the heck of it.

I’ll offer my quick input on Tenacity. I’ve used it to great success, WHEN it was appropriate.

It works great for weeds that are already sprouted mid season, it just takes some time. It works great when you are re-seeding a lawn, early or mideseason, as it doesn’t take out seeds (grass, or weeds). Obviously we all know establishing a lawn mid-season is a no-no, but sometimes there’s no other option. It stops photosynthesis on wide leaf types, so there needs to be an already established rhizome before it will do anything. It is less “harmful” to people the moment it is spread than other standard herbicides (supposedly). (I wear long pants and an N95 when spreading “normal” varieties. I’ve used it a month after mixing, and it still worked as advertised.

Good to know. I'm happy to report my nutsedge is turning ghostly. I'll try to get a picture tomorrow. It's really nice to see visual progress.

Keep an eye out for any 'green' in the plant that starts to show up again. That usually indicates another application might be appropriate.

I'm hitting it twice no matter. I take no prisoners.

Typically with any herbicide (regardless of its mode of action ie: how it kills the plant), it is best to wait until the plant is vigourously growing and healthy. This maximises uptake and distribution of the herbicide through the plant, therefore making the kill more effective. If you spray a sick or partly dead plant, often the herbicide will have little effect. So wait until the plant is fully green and lush again before giving a 2nd spray.

Ordered Tenacity and some wondercide ecotreat for pest (mosquito). I have a sprayer I can borrow for the tractor or a hand pump one.....Curious to see how this goes! I appreciate all the info and help

#725 1 year ago

I believe this is after 5 days of spraying Tenacity. We just planted those perenials and the one picture there are Day Lillies I tried to miss and think I did an okay job. I'm waiting for the weeds to die before putting some more mulch down.

I just go by what Tenacity recommends: a 2nd application (if needed), 2-3 weeks out.

My lawn maintenance regime is pretty simple.

1 - Mow twice a month between March and October

2 - That's it

Rage inducing.

Family member tried to *help* by mowing my lawn and took it upon themselves to lower the mower deck from my 4" setting to 3"

Since I use a Honda mulching mower I then had to mow again at a different angle on 3.5" just to clear out the clumps of grass laying on the lawn. THEN I had to take my backpack blower and retrace every step to break up the remaining clumps. Huge mess and grass clippings everywhere and I am still left with a lawn missing the best one inch of thick green grass.

So my "helper" cost me twice as much time and effort. #sad

My neighbor (super old dude) lowered my mower when my wife was cutting the grass many years ago. This then caused the blade to hit a low stump and bent the blade. Needless to say - I think I have cut the grass every time since then. No one should touch another person's mower height. Not cool.

Excellent points: should you have the need to borrow your neighbour's mower, please make sure you return it with some gas in it and return the wheel height to its original position. That's all we ask.

Yeah but kind of joyous operating the blower no?

#738 1 year ago

Check your mower air filter, don't attempt to wash or power blow. Time for a replacement.

I have a friend that likes to mess with his OCD neighbor. The neigbhor mows right after my friend and tries to match the height exactly. So my friend started changing the mow height each time. My friend got a real kick out of this, but when I heard the story I though great, OK. Well, at least I had a story to tell here for what it's worth.

Blowers are good for blowing crap out of the garage too. Get's in the places where the broom can't reach.

Agreed ..N95 mask and fire that baby up

#743 1 year ago

Pro tip - I start in the garage using my handheld Bosch 18v blower then switch to the backpack blower once I get the back corners cleared.

It's much easier to get behind and under stuff with the little guy and it will run 20 mins on high with a 4a pack
