Quoted from ZNET:

All of the versions offer the player three different bat strength options.

I wonder about the different bat strengths.
I am setting up my Upper Deck with an alternative player console with multiple pitch choices.
The game has varied batting strength now and it is assigned at random. (as are the pitches)
I dislike the random bat strength because as the hitter you are handicapped by the random strength of the bat.

How often do you use less than the maximum bat strength.
I just want to bash the ball to the home run target.....

Quoted from TomT:

Added a 1968 Bally World Cup fun game and my little man approves

I was buying a pin from a guy and he had this game.
I tried to buy it but he would not sell.
He did play a couple of games with me .....It was cool fun.

Quoted from presqueisle:

you'll be getting 42 runs!

The scoring on that machine is so cool.
It was designed to keep the player coming back for more.
It is easy to see why it has the varied bat strength .

This is not the case on Upper deck. Random bat strength makes aim very difficult. You do not know what strength it will be and so control is extremely difficult. Ultimately you are trying to hit singles and load the bases and then hit the home run for the grand slam.

The random varied pitch is ok especially ( as another pinsider pointed out to me) if you are playing alone.

I am going to have it so you use the original console and the mixing unit as it was built.

Then I will wire in a couple of relays and some molex plugs to allow a different console that will have multiple pitch buttons.
On the second set up the bat strength will be fixed.

Quoted from ramegoom:

I also added an IEC receptacle to the back door so I can use a standard computer cord - did this on every machine I have.

I find that interesting. Not to be a dope but what is the advantage ?
It would make storage of a game somewhat easier. What else?

I usually by the black 3 prong 25 ft extension cord from Walmart and cut off the gang plug before I install it in a game. $9 or $10.

Quoted from ramegoom:

typically use 2 ft. or 3 ft. cordsets which clean

It all makes sense now !
Great idea.
Do you cut in the receiver into the back of the game that is not already equipped?

I am guessing that the gambling machines already have that set up as I have a poker machine and a megatouch that are set up that way already.

1964 Midway 'Space Gun'

That game looks good enough to not restore it.

and maybe even re-blue the gun barrel.

I did the re-blue on my Crossfire.
Easy to do and looks awesome.

Picked up a Williams Music Mite today.
Yes, it is tough but I will do a full restoration.
Not a juke box guy but there is always time to learn.

Aren't there chocolates that are the same size as those old condom boxes.
Fwiw; a guy "tomcat" on eBay was selling condoms from bygone times.

Quoted from amkoepfer:

but dont want to sink a ton

I lose money on everything I restore.
I restore machines now that I want to have for a while.
Then I sell it for a loss and move on.

I wish I could purchase machines for what I end up selling them for but already restored.
