Quoted from PinballAir:

Aren't there chocolates that are the same size as those old condom boxes.
Fwiw; a guy "tomcat" on eBay was selling condoms from bygone times.

Not found any choc pacs yet. Apparently the pack dimensions for this machine were quite independent of other condom vendors of the time. I have purchased a couple of motors off tomcat so I will follow up with him. Thks.

I love EM gun games, but i rarely see them in the wild.

These came out of hiding the other week!

I can make boxes for that machine. Add whatever graphics you need, and you can fill them with bubble gum or leave them empty.

I would need the dimensions, in thousandths of an inch, and they will fit perfectly.

Finally scored a 9 on Little Pro. I, coincidentally, had bought a six pack of Two Brothers Pinball beer earlier. Not saying drinking them played a role in it, but it definitely did I think

Hell yes it helped. 2-1/2 pts is the sweet spot for me. After that it goes downhill quickly.

I am fascinated by this review of the beer:
"The complete opposite of a juicy pale ale. This was bitter, harsh, and abrasive. There was not even a hint of fruitiness, juiciness, or sweetness of any kind. This was just pure bite through and through".
Perhaps it gave you the aggression to land the big one!

A coffee/wine place near me has a small selection of beer too. I saw this brand and had to pick it up. I liked it! Kind of orange/grapefruity. Would buy again.

The true definition of "Basket Case" when I got it, including internal fire damage.

Plays like a champ and is a big hit at the office.

Apparently, bowlers are like pins; they multiply!

After I grabbed my United Bowling Alley, this popped up about 1 week later!

Unlike pins. These things take up some real estate! This Fleetwood is close to operational but definitely needs some TLC after I "restore" my United.

I might pick-up a 1958 16' United Ball Bowler this weekend if everything goes well.

Question:. What tools do I need to take with me since this is my 1st ball bowler? Got a ways to travel so I want to make sure I have everything.

TIA

John,

Are two guys enough to dolly that head up steps from a basement and carry the lane sections out? The guy said his steps are 4' wide.

I think so. I loaded mine out of a garage but with a dolly for the heaviest part, you should be okay.

You may want to ask how wide the doors are, but they obviously got it down there.

#1468 4 years ago

No problem with two guys Dave although the cab section is particularly weighty. You may find a socket set useful to remove the bolts within the cab to the first lane section. You will not regret the purchase but castors essential.

Lucky guy with your first ball bowler, congrats hoov! I wanted one for my new arcade but could only accommodate a 13', just not worth it IMO. Have fun with it.

Here's the last one that I finished last month. It wasn't the worse, but
was a bit up there..
Restored two last year (late Winter/early Spring, and late Fall/early Winter),
and plan on doing the same for the next upcoming years. Hours of work, but
need the space..

I did it with a friend and a narrower stairway. We had to remove the hand rail and door to get it out. With only 1.5 inch on each side it was tough. I think with 4 feet you should be OK. But be prepared, it it very heavy!

My bowler cost me an extra $40, as I bought my moving buddy a bottle of something good, cause I knew it was going to hurt

I like your paint job better.

Now, when you say "I need the room", am I interpreting that correctly as, "More coming in"?

Yes, everyone agrees these things are heavy.

Thanks, and I have a few more to go including an United "Play Time".
Although most only play regulation (which is the mostly played anyway),
I like the late 50s ball bowlers best. Has character with nice hardwood..
I'm 100% your Play Time will be a huge plus during gatherings..

#1477 4 years ago
Quoted from Yelobird:

Seen the video Mike did on this one absolutely beautiful! He does great work but his toys can be addictive and pricey. I have several of his pieces now and live them. Just had him do this Popperette to make movie night just that much more special with the kids.
[quoted image][quoted image][quoted image]

Wow, that's absolutely Gorgeous....I wouldn't even want to use it.

#1478 4 years ago
Quoted from RonSS:

Now, when you say "I need the room", am I interpreting that correctly as, "More coming in"?

Actually, unless it's something I absolutely can't say no to, space wise, I can't afford getting anything else in (especially ball bowlers)..
I need to make room in my storage (which are full) so I can empty the upstairs addition which I need to drywall and finish so I can have
the space for the other machines that I so much would like to have set up..
I mainly enjoyed making trades, but I'm going to eventually have to start selling..
Here's the upstairs addition. I have the machines to go through and set up to fill it up. Many of which I've never played and very much
would like to..

Oooof OK I know this is going to be hard to hear, but it's intervention time. Sit down, we are all here because we care. Now, we all brought cash to make you offers to take these away as-is...

#1480 4 years ago
Quoted from cait001:

Now, we all brought cash to make you offers to take these away as-is...

Yup, that's what I've been thinking. Because I basically work on the machines during the Winter months,
there wouldn't be any way to go through every one.. Not to all, but to many, ball bowlers aren't worth
much unless they're properly working, so that's why I restore them..
I'll probably let 1/3 go that's in storage, and that should give plenty of space to empty the addition..

#1481 4 years ago

only have seen one ball bowler come up for sale in my area the last 10 years or so..

#1482 4 years ago
Quoted from dasvis:

That's why I bought the 2nd one. I wasn't looking but figured they aren't nearly as plentiful as pins.

1958 Bally All Star Deluxe Bowler. Cool game! I'd describe it as a poor mans Ten Strike but it deserves more credit than that. Used to see these in complete working condition for $800-$1500. Like everything else I'd guess that has gone up over the years.

Shay's site SHOWS the backglass is in stock. I've had my All Star Bowler since the early 80's and it is played more than any game I have. Paid 200 bucks for mine, but I would think a nice specimen would be worth about $1500.00+ today.

This White Lightning followed me home today!

Missing the gun, where might I be able to source another?
The cord was missing so haven't plugged it in yet, but it's in pretty good shape!

Anyone have schematics or a manual they could please share? I can't find the manual for sale anywhere!

Working on a new item for the game room. I'm doing a full overhaul on it. New background, surround, case and everything i can. I cleaned everything, removing all of the layers of gunk, tar, and everything disgusting that accumulated in it since 1974. It now works 100% and i'm just working on the visual portion. I'm trying to decide if i should paint some of the carved portion so it's more visible

Actually the background is a decal, reprinted from one of the same year. I bought 1000 new balls. The old ones are shot.

I had an eye out for the pin hood. Bet there may be cigarette burns marks on it.
A lot of stories could be told on these vintage shuffles..
I checked for the Step-Up-Unit, and no luck. Sorry..
Was wondering what those nice looking white side walls might be
going on..

Hey ya EM peeps. Thinking about moving a 57 Williams Deluxe Baseball. I've got it working almost all the way. The Home Run HS isn't tracking. The PF has a couple of small imperfections. Super fun machine. We have enjoyed it for a while now but thinking about changing things up. Info and value of these things are all over the place. Any Feedback is appreciated. Thanx in advance.

Quick question for you guys, I'm trying to buy my first EM. I'm going to go look at a Midway Deluxe Shooting Gallery. Anything specific I should look for? What kind of price range am I looking at for an unrestored machine?
