Nice line-up on the gun games. Which is your favorite? My son has a Shoot Out. They don't get much better than that.
probably the coney island.truth be said the bowler gets more play than any of the other games.i think thats the same with most game rooms with a ball bowler.

I swear I must have seen one when I was very very young. The cast iron saloon beckons some kind of deeply buried memories, like a smell you remember but can't quite place.
What is that small countertop plinko-like machine next to your Ten Strike?
thanks so much for sharing.

To the right of ten strike is a Frantz kicker and catcher called pot of gold but sadly the original glass was broken

Good mercy! An enviable collection indeed. Thank you for sharing, Ddstoys.

Backglass repros for this kicker-catcher are available. At least, the repro is available for the similar Baker version.

too bad it's not actually Kicker Catcher, I saw a great backglass for one of those for sale recently

*sigh* Alright, Ddstoys, I guess SOMEONE has to follow that doozy of a post. I'll start the bar low this time.
In all seriousness, I'm pretty excited about this 1977 United "Thunderbird" shuffle bowler. I bought this as a project a while back with a lot of things to figure-out. I managed to source a missing score reel, missing pin reset motor, busted pins, missing puck, and disassemble/clean all 87 score reels. However, thanks to a visit from a one, bingopodcast , it is now in working order and QUITE fun! It's such a great change of pace from pinball.
Don't get me wrong, I love me some pingames...
...but there's something to be said for a game that allows for a 5 second turn before passing the buck...er...PUCK to the next player. bingopodcast 's family and mine played a number of games where many members of our respective crews, regardless of age, were quite invested in their games. Lots of entertainment value here.
It may not be the prettiest, but it's up and running, and at some point I'll aim to make it a little nicer. I'm also looking forward to the day we're able to finish that unfinished basement where it currently sits, so that it can join its coin-op cousins. In the meantime, we're enjoying it quite a bit. Coming in at the tail end of the electro-mechanical era, it's got fair number of different game types to play (Regulation, Flash, 6th Frame, Strike 90, and Strike Bonus), and in a space too small for a ball bowler, this is a helluva close second.

Where do you guys find this stuff? I live in a machine desert. I'm lucky to come up with the occasional pinball.

When you're a collector in this thread, sometimes collecting means driving across the continent for the pieces you want.

Collector is a nice word for addict!!!! Most of have been on those long journeys to get the machine they wanted, some have even shipped them from overseas.
BUT to cait001's point...if you truly want a game you'll go and get it!

...or shipping across continents!
Quoted from wayner:...or shipping across continents!
on that note I am looking for a Bell-Fruit Cascade machine and am willing to pay stupid amounts shipping to get it here, if anyone can assist.
Quoted from meSz:Most of have been on those long journeys to get the machine they wanted, some have even shipped them from overseas.
Yep, there is that constant vigilance of searching and working towards the pieces you want. Also lots of networking amongst likeminded coll--- addicts-- looking out for each other! I have a selection of people in my phone who I call/text right away if I find stuff I think is in their wheelhouse. Likewise I sometimes get messages from people that have spotted curiousities they think I want.
And when that coveted piece becomes available a few thousand miles/kilometres away, you have to see how much you truly want it then!

Good looking alley cat! What's its name?
Quoted from Pinstein:Ive got a williams strike master that Ive rethemed to a "Starlite Bowl" with black lite and cosmic pins. It even has a blue LED dmd. Im am looking to move it out if anyone is interested.
Location? Price?
Quoted from DennisDodel:Good looking alley cat! What's its name?
that would be "lucky"and relaxing on the alley is one of her favorite pastimes.especially when anyone wants to bowl.
Just spent an interesting 10 minutes reading about parking meters and, specifically, the "Police will not turn handle" sticker... thanks!

Yep, tell us more-
Quoted from EMGaz:A couple of English arcade games, that might interest you.
I'm currently fascinated by English arcade games. The history of coinop is the history of local gambling laws, and it seems that American laws pushed that industry in vastly different directions, and English games were able to keep the focus on gambling payouts. I love me a good Allwin machine, but if you compare photos of American arcades in the 60s vs English arcades in the 60s, I'm definitely biased towards to the American pinball renaissance.
Kind of related to this thread. I have an apollo moon shot rifle game, and im trying to clean 50 years of nicotine off the sides. Whats the best way? I tried mean green and magic eraser, but felt like too much paint was coming off. I tried tsp, but that too seems like paint is coming off. How does everyone do it??
Quoted from amkoepfer:mean green magic eraser
On cabinets, the combination I found to work best also!
Quoted from Mopar:On cabinets, the combination I found to work best also!
Thanks. I was just worried about paint loss, but i dont want to put it into the basement until its clean!
Quoted from amkoepfer:I was just worried about paint loss,
I thought about maybe fading also, so I do a small area at a time, and as soon as
it does it's job, I wipe it all off right away, and sometimes with a slightly damp cloth
after also..

It's really tar. I like to use ammonia. But like everything else there's many ways to do it.

Yeah, I think I am busy that day. Holy f*** that thing looks heavy.
Guys I don’t own any non pin EM stuff but really want to. I never seem to find any of that stuff around here tho. Any suggestions on where to look/how to search for these kinds of toys? I know y’all have secrets about finding things, but anybody willing to share search tips?

I've purchased from word of mouth, Craigs list and also E-Bay has been good to me on occasion. It might be worth it to you to hit a couple of the Chicago shows. They have a couple big coin op shows including Expo for pinball. There are also Coin Op forums to join although I have none saved in my work computer, but I'm sure many others can steer you in a good direction.
Good luck on your search
Quoted from SirScott:Maybe you can utilize this before trying to move it to the gameroom,
I moved it to the garage myself! How bad can steps be? Ya, its heavy!

Google- coin-op collectibles, trade stimulators, antique coin-op, antique candy machines etc...
