Kicking off a thread for showing off you're HUO pinball machines.

Let's keep it real- no drilled fronts for lock bars, no coin door wear, etc.

Pics with a story would be a plus!

I'll start off with a HUO jungle Lord... Not kidding...

    Backstory as I know it:

I got the game from davideokills of superelectric. He purchased the game from the original owner. The game was purchased at auction on January 29th of 1982 for a sum of $550.00!

All original documents are present along with invoice copies!

This thing looks like it just came out of a Time capsule! I have put on a play field protector to keep the art nice. It's only temporary until I have the time to get it cleared properly!

    Quoted from Crile1:

umm...do you want to change the title to like Vintage HUO or early SS HUO? Because pretty much all modern pins are now HUO with the relative small exception (20-30%?) of routed pins nowadays.
Very cool pin, by the way. Rare to find a true HUO Jungle Lord.

    Good call!

    Quoted from tp:

Wow!!!! That's awesome to look at. I believe you, really I do.

It feels sacrilegious to even play it! The boards even look amazing! No acid damage on the mpu either!

    Quoted from Bryan_Kelly:

Not to be a dick, but it should be your, not you're.
    BTW, beautiful JL.

    Ha, stupid auto correct. Dick

Beautiful Pinbot Tanooki it's a bummer the documents were lost.

There's something just too cool about huo games being brought to light!

    Quoted from DK:

I have a true HUO Paragon. I’m the third owner. I’ll take pics when I get home

    Now I'm jealous

    Quoted from zacaj:

amazing how fast the insert edges wear, even on a low play game like that

We are lucky now that options exist to remedy those problems. play field protectors and hard two part auto clear are a must have for games like these.

A part of me wants to do the touch-up work around the inserts before having the game cleared but the other part of me says to just clear it and lock in the historical value of the game.

    Quoted from Tanooki:

At one point I was considering changing out the lights on mine for LED, but I never was clear, do you need to do anything extra or just swap the bulbs (on Pinbot?) And I do kind of agree hmu isn't always excellent, people may just bought it and neglected it from use/storage and it just degraded. I'm no repair wizard, but I can keep things from getting worse unlike the previous owners on mine. I know when it call it and ask for a locals help if I had to too.

Swap the bulbs to LEDs. Non-ghosting 4smd from comet under inserts. 2smd frosted for the GI.

I've got LEDs coming this week for jungle Lord. I'll give you a before and after comparison.

mrbillishere woah! Coincidentally, Paragon is my favorite game. That's the kind of Paragon I want in my life!

Does yours still have the kmiec post?

I've had a few games with the kmiec post still retained. Paragon, xenon and wizard all had the posts!

hassellcastle that's a gorgeous DE right there! I don't think the price is outrageous- is it high... Yes. The shape of the game imo should command that kind of money!

    Good luck with sale!

    Quoted from pinbum:

I have a one owner HUO mint Comet don't know if it falls under vintage.

I guess by vintage, I mean something not newer like: Stern, spooky, Chicago, highway, etc.

    Let's see that classic Williams!

    Loving this thread.

    Me too!

So many gorgeous examples! Let's keep this thing going!

I was asked for a pic of documents on my jungle Lord.

    Here they are!

    Quoted from terrapinmark:

Stern Magic. I won this NIB in 1981 at the ripe old age of 17. I have since had the playfield restored.

That thing is beautiful! Who did the clear for you? I'm in the same area as you and could use a good clear coat on my jungle Lord.
